Having gone through a literal 6 hour ordeal in my local Walmart store...these are not always shipped properly activated when purchased online. My first order went absolutely fine, but the second turned into a nightmare (AT&T suspended the line after a day, citing a point-of-purchase error). The local store should be able to fix it, however it's not a guarantee (in my case they returned the phone but couldn't resell it to me because their POS wouldn't scan it - wound up having to sell me a new phone from in-store). And because the e-receipt given to you by Walmart doesn't include the IMEI/SN of the phone you won't be able to get it fixed by AT&T.

I plan to pick it up tomorrow then pop in the ATT store a couple of blocks away and see if they can check the IMEI number to make sure Walmart scanned the phone properly and it can be set up. Due to work schedule won't have time to port from existing carrier and switch to Att tomorrow.
If everything checks out I'll go back Monday and port number over from existing Boost Mobile account and get the $30 ATT prepaid plan.
Anyone here ever port out from Boost and run into any problems etc.? Have been with Virgin +Boost for the last 8 years and never ported out before. I do have the Boost account number but I don't know if they try to make things difficult.
I ask because I plan on popping my current postpaid SIM card into it.

Followed the instructions, using an inactive t-mobile sim and powering on the device, then requesting the unlock from att.
Got this from them this morning:
