JCP&L does not sell the qualifying products through a marketplace. The only way to get the $100 rebate is to purchase somewhere else and have it installed professionally. Just the installation will likely cost more than $100.
PSEG offers the products through a marketplace so they can be purchased directly by their customers, and the rebate is already included in the final price. NJNG is similar, though they offer only Nest and ecobee thermostats.
I was just warning folks to read the terms carefully, since in some cases, it really doesn't turn out being free.
