That battery looks ridiculous. It is like the driver is wearing old-school Dr. Martens.

What's the price in-store? I got this driver a year ago when my store incorrectly priced it and the hammer drill (I paid $120 each). They were both my daily drivers until I recently picked up the M18 Surge on the hack deal. I really, really like this driver. The speed controls are great and the intelligent screw driving mode has an excellent acceleration function that does a good job of preventing accidental damage to screw heads while you're working in tough spots. The battery is quite large, but the tool is well-balanced. Honestly, my only real gripe with it is the damn collet doesn't allow for one-handed insertion of bits. It sounds like a petty gripe, but after using Milwaukees and Dewalts for so long, it can get really frustrating when you're swapping bits frequently. That said, this driver is a beast and it's very comfortable to hold. My reason for switching to the Surge as my primary work driver is that I greatly prefer the quiet operation of the Surge and the smooth action that feels very similar to a pneumatic. This Hitachi is a bit faster, but the Surge has a bit more control In my use case (mostly removing and driving screws in awkward, tight spaces). One more thing to note is that these Multivolt batteries last a ridiculously long time. Seriously, it's kinda ludicrous. In a year of use I only have had to charge the one I use in this driver once or twice. The only thing that comes to mind with a similar battery life is the old Wii Pro Remote.

It looks like this kit is marked down to $199.00, which is a pretty good price. The batteries alone sell for over $100 a piece normally.
