Same processor as Surface 8 Pro. SSD can be easily replaced.

This was also $799 at Costco a week ago, and Surface Pen was also included in that price (plus better warranty and returns)
Agreed. To note, that was member only pricing and is no longer available. Pen was $59.99 on Amazon when I bought it yesterday. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...=UTF8&th=1

Not sure we will see a better deal before Christmas is why I bought mine and posted this deal.
I used a Surface Pro 6 (i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) with a Microsoft Surface Dock as my desktop for two years. I had 4 USB devices, sound, ethernet, and a display port connected.

Thanks for the post. In the off chance you're like me and already hoarded a type-cover from a previous deal in anticipation of getting a new, Pro 7+, here's the post about the same machine sans cover for $700:

https://slickdeals.net/f/15294331-microsoft-surface-pro-7-12-3-touch-screen-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-128gb-ssd-device-only-latest-model-platinum-699-99-at-best-buy
I believe the deal you linked to is the 10th gen i5. The new 7+ (this thread) has the 11th gen.

Everyone seems to have a RAM fetish, 8GB of RAM is more than enough for the type of work you're going to do on a tablet/convertible.

I agree. Unless you intend to dock the tablet when working at home, 16GB probably isn't necessary.

Does using a dock increase the performance or available ram somehow? I'm not aware of this feature, but if I've missed something I'd be delighted to learn otherwise.

It just makes it so you can use the tablet like a desktop PC, eg. Using monitors and a more traditional keyboard, mouse and various other peripherals.

Don't buy unless it's around $200 or less. It's not wort (not stable). We have plenty of those for clients). Buy yourself a real laptop instead

Sure you're not referring to the Pro X?

Pretty good deal since the keyboard cover is valued at $130+

My Surface Pro 2 is still running like the day I got it, but obviously 8 years later the performance is getting sluggish, so I might upgrade to this new one.
