Since the Walmart listing says it supports optical and comes with an optical cable then it should be the TS8132. But about half the reviews say it doesn't have optical, so I guess it's a crap shoot on which one you get. I ordered one for shipping thinking that I might stand a better chance of getting the new model instead of one that's been on the store shelf for a year, but I could be wrong. I didn't feel like driving down there and fighting the crowd to find out which one they had.
The TCL product page is at https://www.tcl.com/us/en/products/sound-bars/alto-8-series/alto-8-plus-3-1-2-channel-sound-bar-ts81... [tcl.com] To further confuse matters near the top of the page it lists optical, but in the Specifications sections it says Optical = NO. The downloadable specs PDF says Yes.
I guess I'll find out in a few days when it arrives, and at least Walmart is easy for returns.

Highly-rated in the reviews I have seen.
The mid and upper end Vizio 5.1 systems have also been near the top of most reviews for several years. gives you true surrond speakers, but you do have to connect the rears to the sub.
But I would definitely recommend going with a at least a 3.1 vs 2.1 system, as it will give you an actual center channel without having to faux process it.
I have not hear this TCL, but under $150 for a 3.1 with Atmos , eARC etc- this is the best bang for buck I have seen on a sondbar so far.
And like a faster computer or OLED TV, going from TV speakers to this- it will sound great to you, until you hear a better one.

As far as sound, the speakers are "okay" in the high and midrange when compared to the TV speakers on my 55LF6000 from https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/256080 . But with subwoofer, the system is "better" than the TV. It's definitely a different experience listening to a sound bar versus built in TV stereo speakers.
1) Moved tuner to HDMI 2
2) Plugged sound bar into HDMI 1 (which is also ARC)
3) Plugged in the sub and the soundbar.
4) Turned on the TV and it was already setup. Sub-paired automagically, TV set sound to sound bar.
Next paired my phone
1) Press Bluetooth on remote and sound bar / wait for tone
2) IPhone settings, turn on Bluetooth and sync
3) Done
Sound is way better than the TV and the Dolby atmos is apparent. Bass is as expected, there but not booming. Still good for what it is.
As for if it will match the picture quality? No, I would suggest something better - hence my reply.
How much better will it be than the built in speakers IDK I dont have this sound bar (and have a C8). But I can guarantee the picture quality will be better and kinda outpace the sound.
