Since the Walmart listing says it supports optical and comes with an optical cable then it should be the TS8132. But about half the reviews say it doesn't have optical, so I guess it's a crap shoot on which one you get. I ordered one for shipping thinking that I might stand a better chance of getting the new model instead of one that's been on the store shelf for a year, but I could be wrong. I didn't feel like driving down there and fighting the crowd to find out which one they had.
The TCL product page is at https://www.tcl.com/us/en/products/sound-bars/alto-8-series/alto-8-plus-3-1-2-channel-sound-bar-ts81... [tcl.com] To further confuse matters near the top of the page it lists optical, but in the Specifications sections it says Optical = NO. The downloadable specs PDF says Yes.
I guess I'll find out in a few days when it arrives, and at least Walmart is easy for returns.

My first time experiencing Dolby Atmos. This thing rocks!! I'm hearing things I never heard before!
Turned on HDMI ARC settings, source it to HDMI 2 ARC.
Works like a charm!

soundbar (via optical)
When using the optical connection, the only outputs I could get to work were stereo uncompressed and Dolby Digital. Neither one sounded great in both movies and games. If I set it to 5.1 uncompressed, there are clearly missing channels while watching movies... I was hoping the TCL could downsample the 5.1 to 3.1 at least? On reddit I see other people saying their 3.1 soundbars downsample 5.1 just fine.
I also tried using HDMI cable to the soundbar instead of optical, and the same settings above worked and sounded a lot better. Also Dolby Atmos worked and sounded good. But still not 5.1. I was surprised that Dolby Digital with HDMI sounded better than with optical - shouldn't they be the same?
So it seems like the only way to make this setup work great is by configuring Xbox One to output Dolby Atmos and use HDMI out - I'm a little sad, because I preferred to use optical since the cable is thinner. I was hoping I could use optical 5.1 and have the TCL downsample it. I'm debating returning this for a true 5.1 that I can use with optical.

Also I'm sure this has been answered but it does have an optical input on the soundbar I saw someone wondering about this.
