Apparently there are two models, the TS813 and the TS8132. I assume the TS8132 is the newer and current model. The biggest difference appears to be that the TS813 does not have optical and the TS8132 does, so if optical is important to you this could be a concern.

Since the Walmart listing says it supports optical and comes with an optical cable then it should be the TS8132. But about half the reviews say it doesn't have optical, so I guess it's a crap shoot on which one you get. I ordered one for shipping thinking that I might stand a better chance of getting the new model instead of one that's been on the store shelf for a year, but I could be wrong. I didn't feel like driving down there and fighting the crowd to find out which one they had.

The TCL product page is at https://www.tcl.com/us/en/products/sound-bars/alto-8-series/alto-8-plus-3-1-2-channel-sound-bar-ts81... [tcl.com] To further confuse matters near the top of the page it lists optical, but in the Specifications sections it says Optical = NO. The downloadable specs PDF says Yes.

I guess I'll find out in a few days when it arrives, and at least Walmart is easy for returns.

Sorry. All I did was copy and paste the description from the Walmart website. I'm just someone who was looking for a soundbar and stumbled upon this deal.

Ordered yesterday was on my doorstep today. Couldn't get it to work by plugging Apple TV into the soundbar then soundbar to eARC port on my TV so I have Apple TV to an hdmi on TV and soundbar to the eARC on TV and it seems to work well. Not getting Dolby atmos logo on the screen but soundbar will say Dolby atmos. Any way to test if atmos is actually working?

my first soundbar! the dolby atmos sounds great with my Hisense 55 inch roku tv. I'm no audiophile but this bar is pretty good for the price. Easy setup with roku tv. no issues with the sub either.

they had it in stock Alexandria, VA

Just got mine today. Connected it to a fairly new TCL TV using ARC HDMI and there's a noticeable lag in sound. Actors look like they're lip synching. Anyone knows a fix for this? I tried adding a delay etc from the TV but when i switch it off and on? The timing is off again.
I'm curious about this too

Are you still having issues? I don't have any. I used the HDMI 8k cables I purchased on Amazon. I didn't use the one it came with in the box.

My first time experiencing Dolby Atmos. This thing rocks!! I'm hearing things I never heard before!
Maybe it's the hdmi cable that's the culprit? I'm using the hdmi that came with the tv to connect from soundbar to tv

Walmart code WOWFRESH (which is supposed to be just for grocery orders) worked for another $10 off when I entered it in checkout window (though I did not actually buy).
Another option is the PAYPAL10 ($10 off $50) if you pay by PayPal and have not taken advantage of that coupon yet.

I am real tempted by this. On the TCL site it seems like a good build with both a woofer and tweeter for the main three channels, and two upfiring drivers for the Atmos.
That plus eArc HDMI and just about every apple/google/alexa/spotify option you could want.

But I already have two great sounding soundbars and can't justify upgrading.

Wish I could also find more review on the specific model.
Thanks wowfresh worked

I am so happy I got one of these. I couldn't find the specs, like speaker power and stuff, but I took a chance because my old one was a very basic 200w(maybe) 2.1 Samsung soundbar I got 2 years ago. I learned why certain things are incredibly subjective too. I read the subwoofee was weak, compared to the one I had this thing kicks. It's probably 3-4x stronger. Others said the vocals aren't as clear on movie.... I find they're most clear coupled with essential background noise best on movie. TV is good for your dramas and stuff, music is a middle ground (haven't tried music yet). For me this was an amazing upgrade to a modest entertainment set up. I have a 70" Samsung and had a Samsung soundbar with a PS5. It's nice that you can set it up as a SmartSpeaker for Google,Apple,Alexa.

The biggest downside is there's no real menu or intricate display and there's no set up menu. It's all very simple but complicated due to lack of interface.

I bought one of these over the weekend. The wireless sub doesn't work. The pair light is solid illuminated in the back but nothing comes out of the sub. I tried to repair and the soundbar says it is paired to the sub but nothing. Sub DOA will have to return.

Also I'm sure this has been answered but it does have an optical input on the soundbar I saw someone wondering about this.
Mine did have an optical. Just so you know, Dolby can't be pushed through Optical so i would think about whether or not you want to deal with the hassle of finding a replacement if you're looking to use the optical

You have to adjust the soundbar delay in your TV settings

I am having the same issue. I turned off all devices and turned them back on. Same issue, like a 1-2 second delay. Pretty annoying.
You have to change it in your TV settings. It's going to be in the expert settings part usually and it's labeled something like soundbar delay on my Samsung

Got this and the 8i both and gotta say this is much better being 3.1 with the wireless sub it makes a NOTICEABLE difference in Dolby atmos movies and in music. For a few bucks more the the 8i was from amazon deal this to me is a no brainer and i would recommend it highly over the 8i. The subs being in the 8i and lack of a 3rd channel really muddle alot of Dolby atmos "effects" where as with the 8+ its much more pronounced

I found those settings, adjusted and still a noticeable lag. Just changed the HDMI, no fix. Going to return this. Will go for a replacement and try one more time.

My setup HISENSE U8G and Apple TV 4K. Audio lag happens with or with no Apple TV

ok, got this yesterday, two days before estimated. noice. unpacked, disconnected our vizio soundbar and left all the cables from that setup, connected this one and… no picture. no signal! damn you caavo!

we have a caavo control center (works like a charm). roku stick HDMI1, xbox one s HDMI2, htpc HDMI3 and tivo stream HDMI4. with our previous soundbar, everything worked fine. it also had HDMI-in and HDMI-out (ARC). our samsung TV doesnt have ARC. but, from caavo to HDMI-in and then HDMI-out on the vizio soundbar to HDMI1 on our samsung TV worked right from the box. no issues whatsoever.

with this soundbar, same setup, same cables… nothing. after going thru TVs menus, changing HDMI ports on TV, fiddling with the soundbar options (HDMI-in, passthru, HDMI-ARC) still nothing. no signal. well, thats just dandy. bought it on a whim, didnt tell the old ball and chain, this going to be a long week. but then i remembered. this soundbar came with one HDMI cable. so i threw that in our setup. and removed a GE HDMI cable from lowes. HDMI cable that came with the soundbar from soundbar to TV, and the other one (which was used from previous soundbar to TV) from caavo to this new soundbar. we have signal! yay!

sure, caavo doesnt do atmos, but thats not a biggie for us right now. the sound is ok, i always struggle with dialogue when it comes to soundbars, but then we get used to it. on the old vizio soundbar i turned off half of the effects and it was ok. this soundbar doesnt have any effects options, just on and off. lol. but, if i keep it on movie and lower the bass amount, its ok. will try atmos later on when we move and buy a proper tv.

oh, and btw. this soundbar is wrapped in cloth. like real cloth. the old vizio soundbar also was wrapped in cloth style thingy, but it wasnt flapping around like on this one. that will be a dust magnet for sure. all in all satisfied with the purchase. previous setup didnt have a subwoofer and even though this one comes with a smallish sub it definitely rattles and shakes if volume is above 30-35. havent tested airplay, chromecast, usb playback, bluetooth… havent noticed any lag, i just had to adjust delay in kodi on our htpc from +125ms to +100ms.

also, there is distortion if you keep the bass level at +4/+5 and crank the volume up above 30. theres an optical out, but no optical cable with this model. subwoofer connected right out of the box, no issues here. and last but not least, its much quieter at lower volume then our previous vizio soundbar. could be that the previous one had two effects that can be turned off and on, so that might help. i have to put volume at around 20 to hear stuff, especially dialogue.

for someone whos not demanding i think this is a good deal. thanks for reading my blog.

Ordered yesterday and it's ready for pickup, but seeing it may not work with my Harmony Hub might make me cancel. Anyone get it to work with a hub?

I also have a Bose Solo 10. Would something like this be an upgrade from that?

I don't know why, but for me, the promo code WOWFRESH took another $10 off. I do have W+ though so not sure if that was the cause or if it works for everyone.
