Since the Walmart listing says it supports optical and comes with an optical cable then it should be the TS8132. But about half the reviews say it doesn't have optical, so I guess it's a crap shoot on which one you get. I ordered one for shipping thinking that I might stand a better chance of getting the new model instead of one that's been on the store shelf for a year, but I could be wrong. I didn't feel like driving down there and fighting the crowd to find out which one they had.
The TCL product page is at https://www.tcl.com/us/en/products/sound-bars/alto-8-series/alto-8-plus-3-1-2-channel-sound-bar-ts81... [tcl.com] To further confuse matters near the top of the page it lists optical, but in the Specifications sections it says Optical = NO. The downloadable specs PDF says Yes.
I guess I'll find out in a few days when it arrives, and at least Walmart is easy for returns.

How is the clarity of dialogues from center Channel?
Thank you
Also is it quiet on the lowest setting? I am planning to use it at night in the bedroom.
And overall quality of dialogue output from center Channel?
And overall quality of dialogue output from center Channel?
"Can anyone comment on whether it gets quiet enough to use at night in bedroom?"
--- The sound bar has a night mode, which essentially dials back the bass in a big way (I don't even think the sub is active, but I can't confirm that). I will say that it gets pretty quiet in that mode, but I also don't have it in the bedroom with a sleeping partner next to me, so your mileage may vary. The lowest volume (2%) is almost inaudible.
"Am I happy with my purchase?"
--- Absolutely. For the money, I think it's a wonderful bargain. It's miles better than the speakers on my 2019 TCL 6-series 4K TV that it's hooked up to, but, on the other side of the coin, it doesn't hold a candle to my budget 2015 Energy 5.1 with Denon E300 surround set up. That said, I didn't buy it for that use case. I bought it to enhance the audio capabilities of my living room TV - and it does that really well.
"Overall quality of dialogue output from the center channel?"
--- Dialogue is far better than my TV's speakers, and I can't think of a time where I couldn't make out the dialogue in anything I've watched. Seems the center channel does a good job there.
Does it have virtual surround (rear speakers)? And if so does it work well?"
--- The bar does have the option to turn "Surround" on, but I tend to leave it off. Seems it just adds more reverb, but doesn't really simulate anything that I would equate to a rear-channel.
I hope this helps with your buying process. I'm not extremely well-versed in sound bars, but this thing does appear to be a major bang for your buck, and I'm very happy with. Even if the Atmos implementation isn't up to the standard of other Atmos sound bars, I think you would be very hard-pressed to find one for this kinda coin.

I didn't mean to post so many times but replies weren't showing up and then a few minutes later they all showed up.
