2). before this did you register your item with dyson and provide your serial number? or was this the first time providing dyson with your serial number.

I had never registered it. Just chatted. CS asked where I bought it (I didn't buy it direct from Dyson), did not ask when I bought it. only other thing they asked was my address and serial number.
