Also anyone know how long this $50 discount on the 5a is going to be offered?

EDIT: I found it good through Dec 26th.

Apple is as bad - and apparently signed a secret deal with the Chinese government.

Samsung disables eSIM functionality on their flagship models (and claims it's because the carriers won't allow it - although Google and Apple seem to be able to persuade the carriers).

Motorola's only eSIM offering is the razr - and it's single sim to boot.

So who should I buy from, if I'm looking for 5G / dual sim with eSim?

According to that logic, might as well keep waiting another year and get it for $199. Anything electronic is cheaper a year later... especially in the cellular world.
prissily, if you have a phone that is working you can afford to wait . . . . i jumped from Nexus 6p ($275) to Pixel 3 ($250).

Pixel 3 still runs without any issues and you can get one for about $100. It will run without any issues for next couple years (that's about $50 per year). Pixel 5 just can't give you that much value.

If it's no longer a secret, then it's not a secret. Get what I'm saying?
And yes, agreed with you on all the rest.
The word SIGNED is past tense. Understand why it would still be referred to as "signed a secret deal" even if people found out about it later?

Picked one up on black friday sale. So far it's a solid phone, snappy, amazing display and camera with 128 GB storage and factory unlocked.

This is my first pixel phone and loving it so far. You can't go wrong with this.
Google gave me an upgrade deal when it came so my family has 3 of them. Great phones.

If it's a secret deal, then how do you know about it?

To make these phones super snappy, enable developer options and disable animation scaling. You can Google the steps.

Not sure if this is a helpful comment here or not, but you can get this for $9/month × 24 months = $216 on Google Fi by pixel subscription.
But you have to have a Google Fi line? Minimum $26 with taxes included.

Nexus 5 greatest phone... Google has yet to top it. Every pixel i feel like there is some sort compromise.
I had a Google store direct bought factory unlocked Nexus 5, this Google store direct bought Pixel 5a blows it out of the water as price to performance for the same price (Both bought at $399). Had the 4a as well, the 5a is a great device for the price. Good performance, great battery life. I was looking really seriously at the Pixel 6, and almost purchased u til I saw the rampant reported reception issues. Decided to go with the 5a, and glad I did. The 4a was ok, but this was a really good upgrade even regardless of the fact that I sold my 4a for $310. Great phone.

5a with wireless charging would make it the best pixel. Nexus 5 still imo best Google phone for its time obviously.

How easy is it to migrate from a Samsung Galaxy phone to Google Pixel? I've been on Samsung for 10 years.
It will be easy. Pixels have clean software, no/very minimal garbage like the Samsungs. From the Galaxy, upload all your contacts to your Google account where you can sync your new Pixel.

Should I trust Google Trade-in to check the box "If my phone's condition is different than above, accept its new value."?

I like the android update on Pixel since I don't play game, not sure if the hardware difference matters to me. However, I do find many negative review online regarding the S20 battery among others. On the other hand, most of the 5a reviews are pretty positive.

Is anyone getting the extra warranty coverage? I'm never sure what to do about that.
