Also anyone know how long this $50 discount on the 5a is going to be offered?

EDIT: I found it good through Dec 26th.

Apple is as bad - and apparently signed a secret deal with the Chinese government.

Samsung disables eSIM functionality on their flagship models (and claims it's because the carriers won't allow it - although Google and Apple seem to be able to persuade the carriers).

Motorola's only eSIM offering is the razr - and it's single sim to boot.

So who should I buy from, if I'm looking for 5G / dual sim with eSim?

Usual price is $450. So save $50.
Also Google increased iPhone trade in values.

Also trade in value can be different based on phone you are buying. Difference can be even $60 (pixel 5a vs pixel 6)

I'm gone wait it out a little longer. I anticipate this phone dropping to the $300 range in 3 to 6 months.
You will be waiting a minimum of a year to get that price.

Agree as much as I loved Nexus phones; Pixels are trash.
Yeah, that's why millions are buying them and they are on version 6. Makes perfect sense.

is this really a deal?
If you've got one of the iPhones on the trade in list, yeah. Going to get $320 for my XR ($120 more than I paid for it). Makes Pixel pretty reasonable.

This should drop to $300 when the 6a comes out.. they'll have to price the 6a around 450-500 or otherwise the 5a won't have anymore appeal.

It's a deal at 400, but still waiting for it to drop a little bit more... My 2XL is still chugging along with good battery life.

This is at $349 on the fi app if you are able to keep to service active for 90 days. You get the 349 price right away at checkout, and should activate (if new Fi customer) and retain (for both new and existing Fi customers) the service active for 90 days in order to get this price. If you deactivate the service or take out the fi sim and put it in another phone, you break the terms of the agreement and Google will charge you the discounted $100 on your credit card that you used initially. What you can do is take out the Fi sim after activating (and NOT put it in another phone and switch on), and put your own sim (from another service like TMO or AT&T or others) into this pixel and use it like that. Just DON'T put the fi sim in another phone and switch it on.
pay google fi for 90 days?.. meanwhile at $50 more, this comes with fi for 90 days free - and unlimited plan at that!

Wouldn't it be more expensive than 50$ to maintain 90 days of Fi though? You'd need to keep Fi active for 3 months at 20-30/month minimum

Got it from BF deal. One word of caution: DO NOT use the phone's first time power up data transfer option to copy all apps/data from your old phone (it's Google's "recommended" method using USB cable to transfer the data between the two phones) because it will not transfer many data over. It copied the phone directory & message board properly. Note: I don't sync my stuff using their platform. However, it didn't copy data associated with other apps over. For example, it didn't copy the bookmarks of Chrome browser. It didn't copy the voice files of Voice Recorder app. It didn't copy my whole photo gallery over either. You better use other method to copy the data, such as via PC, google backup etc. Just not use this USB cable connection and their software approach. Last time I was transferring apps/data from one LG to another LG phone using LG's software and everything was fine.

To make these phones super snappy, enable developer options and disable animation scaling. You can Google the steps.
Been doing that for all the phones in my family that last 4 or 5 years.
