- Power Wheels Dune Racer Extreme 12-Volt Kids Ride On Vehicle
I think the real advantage of the Dune model compared to other Power Wheels is that it has more leg room. Potentially can last many more years compared to the smaller Power Wheels. While they are younger two small kids can fit it. When they get older they can still ride it as a single person vehicle. I'm pretty sure my then 12-year-old was able to still ride his as a single rider.

Does yours or anyone else that owns this find that the whole buggy vibrates a lot like something is catching on the motor (almost like a plastic grinding noise making it also really loud)? I exchanged mine and same issue with new one.
There's a "mod" where you cut the turn stops underneath to give a tighter turning radius.
Great fun for two boys and their friends.
I've replaced the tires on the green one in under one year. Dealers sell parts out there if you google.
The red one is called something else but has better tires for longevity.
There is a very simple fix that increases the turning radius:

All PowerWheels tires wear out quickly. I used 3 lb container of FlexSeal rubber paste to coat the tires. Quieter, better traction, longer lasting.
This is my favorite PowerWheels model and heavily favored by modders like me. And kids. But mostly us adults, haha.

All to say an adapter is a great upgrade if you have power tools
question: what's the battery life like? i want to do this modification but i bought mine used and it came with two PW batteries, and we never seem to play long enough to use up one, much less two.
nonetheless i still want to do the changeover for the extreme simplicity/fast charging etc. i know there are obviously big and small tool batteries, but what kinda run time do you think you see out of whatever size you're running?

I run 5ah batteries and usually get a good 30-45 minutes each (and I have 5 batteries total)
They charge much faster as they are lithium and are much less cumbersome to change, so my 4yo does the change out himself if he's feeling the battery is too low
Remove steering wheel. Trim plastic connecting the steering wheel, now you have better sharp turns. Plenty of YouTube videos if you search dune racer steering wheel mod. You're welcome. Also, once the battery is sluggish - 18v power tool batteries and you will increase the speed up to 10mph too..power wheel brand can handle it. The other non fisher price brands have very thin gauge wires.
