I got this during BF. Supports up to 64gb. Has 2 slots. Comes with 4gb per slot. I just replaced them last night with 8gb per slot. Very easy to replace.

It's almost the same except AMD processor. So only one external monitor up to 4k 30hz can be connected.
You need to find laptops with USB-C display port 1.4. I've never seen any 17" with it under $500. If you can accept 15", there was one.

I have a question. I bought a 17.3" HP laptop around BF for $399 with identical specs to this laptop except for the processor. My purchase has an Intel Core i3-1125G4. Is the processor on this $499 laptop (Intel Core i5-1135G7) better or are they pretty much evenly specced?

Sounds like the Staples deal, right? I have the same one. Processor speed is neck and neck between these two. The i5 has upgraded graphics but still nothing like what you'd get with a dedicated graphics card. The display on this one is 300 nits vs. the 250 on ours. That may be the most practical upgrade. This one's a good deal for sure, but I'm happy with mine for $100 less.

That's probably a better deal. The Ram and port setup are better, just a smaller drive if you need a lot of storage.

I really like this laptop. It has great specs for the price. A backlit keyboard is huge in my opinion and most laptops under $500 don't have that. have sold 3 of these devices so far with my business and everyone has been super happy with them. It is a very fast laptop. It is only a 15.6" screen though and this chat is about 17.3". The only complaint is the hinges in a lot of the reviews but I didn't notice anything when setting them up for my customers.

Best Buy's website is making me really mad since when I put in to buy 1 yesterday they cancelled my order and gave me no reason. They then told me I should create a business account which I did and then it cancelled my order under my business account but still shows the item available. If it was in-store only, It should say IN-STORE only. They won't even let me buy an open box. I am total-tech member and best buy elite. Sorry for my rant. Have a Great Sunday.

When I get back to the house I'll link to the Passmark results for this laptop before memory upgrade and after that I did last night. Before… it's a mediocre machine at best as far as rankings. Wife has been using it while working from home (accounting). She has zero complaints. No gaming.

The only complaint so far, and I knew this pre-purchase, is the sliver keyboard. In dark environment, I think it does okay. In light, you'll want to turn off the backlight. There are 2 levels of brightness you can adjust.

It's a pretty quiet machine so far. I haven't heard the fan kick on yet. The fan on my Dell Inspiron 5770 are loud and constant.

Here are the Passmark results before (stock) and after replacing the 8gb memory with 16gb...

There's definitely 2 ram slots. Max capacity is 64gb. I didn't take a good look at it last night, but I believe the WiFi card can be replaced. Also, there is no additional slot to add a second hard drive.

Opening the case was a breeze. After removing the screws, I used a gift card to separate the back from the front.

Are all the case bottom screws exposed, not hidden under rubber feet?
