You get more tools with skil, but you get better quality with bosch. There is a reason why it's 5 tools for $99.

Don't underestimate the power here! I framed and completed a 1700 square foot basement with these, no issue! Small and super powerful.

These 2 tools are great and I used them professionally for years. I now use m12 for compatibility but these are more than enough for home use and this is a great price. The driver is larger but I prefer it over the M12.

You'll have to compare the specs. I don't own anything on the Dewalt 12v platform but I wouldn't trade this Bosch set for anything else of similar voltage.

I bought a similar deal on Amazon last year. One battery was DOA, the other quit right after the warranty period. Other than that, I like these for household projects.

I suggest reading the reviews before making statements like that. The reason for the price is that too many people have never heard of Skil or associate the name with the lower-level line of tools made before Chervon bought it and revamped the line. I was also going to buy the Bosch set, but researched and bought this Skil set.

Yeah, I'm always iffy on buying tools from Amazon.

Yeah, Bosch (for the most part) dominates the 12v. (Avoid that 12v oscillating sander... ooof. Bosch needs to yank that off the market quickly.)

"BuT tHe ToRqUeS aRe BiGs iN mY MiLwAuKeE/DeWaLt!!!!!!"

Cool...

It's a 12v ... it's not the tool you want for driving in 16" Timber Lags.

...

Come next year, or 2023at the latest, Bosch will dominate the 18v lineup as well. The lineup if tools being tested right now are unreal. It's primarily because they are actually listening to what people want.

Agree. I have the brushed PS21 and the brushless PS22 and see little performance difference: it seems like Bosch's 12V brushed punch "above their weight" and Bosch's 12V brushless punch below. You can see that in the specs: the brushed impact PS41 is 930 in-lbs and the brushless impact PS42 is 970.

Also, my brushless PS22 has a delay on trigger squeeze that I dislike: I strongly prefer the brushed PS21.

If you're looking to spend more money on Bosch 12V, I recommend the GLI12V-300N light and their oscillating tool.
A lot of people hated that trigger delay. They were going to do a model that would be identical, but without the delay (and probably $30 more... dick move on Bosch. ) But they got a lot of people blowing them up for that. So they're going to be doing something else entirely. And I'm not certain, but there has been talk of swapping out that relay for customers. But it's not yet been confirmed.

Come next year, they will be releasing some new things that many people here in the US have begged for them to come to the NA market... One *might* be a certain 12v impact driver that is an amazing little monster. 😉😉 .

Also, they *might* be adding their Bluetooth mod to it so that you can turn the delay on or off.

Personally, I love the Bosch app and its current features. Having options for a slow start on a lot of tools is great... especially on the 740 impact wrench. They OP'd that tool, and the 0 to 0.3 speed of light that is standard with that trigger can be really painful.

Also, having Bosch upgrading tools helps out other brands because of how they copy Bosch so much. Lol.

So next year, it will be a Bosch Bonanza. They've come out of nowhere and Ninja'd the industry.

So if you have your PS22 keep an eye out for an email. And keep an eye on their press releases as well.

Get this one and spend the $50 elsewhere.

Edit: Sorry for the lack of elaboration. Agree with @cmudnd . This version is so impressive I can't see the brushless being worth it unless you plan on using it 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Otherwise the spec comparison doesn't seem worth it.
While I like the impact driver in this kit, I was really dissatisfied with the PS-31 drill. Based on all the rave reviews, I thought I would be able to use it instead of my brushless DeWalt 18v drills for most situations around the house. Unfortunately, the PS-31 felt really underpowered, leaving me to reach for a heavier drill.

Since I liked the impact driver, I sold the PS-31 and replaced it with a refurbished Bosch GSR12V-300 that I bought for $79. I'm much happier with the GSR version. It feels nearly as powerful as my 18v drills.
