You get more tools with skil, but you get better quality with bosch. There is a reason why it's 5 tools for $99.

Don't underestimate the power here! I framed and completed a 1700 square foot basement with these, no issue! Small and super powerful.

These 2 tools are great and I used them professionally for years. I now use m12 for compatibility but these are more than enough for home use and this is a great price. The driver is larger but I prefer it over the M12.

slightly better deal a year (and a half?) ago when I got mine. Still worth it for $99 though. Useful and not as heavy at the larger models.

I wish Bosch had more home improvement and garden tools. I already have some batteries around. I would jump on it, but because I am in market for lawn mower, blower and other tools, I will go with Ryobi

got this same deal a couple of years back and i gotta say it has to be one of the best investments i've made for the house. between light weight and slightly advanced projects around the house, these things have handled pretty much everything. the only thing i haven't been able to get them to do is drill into brick (which is expected, but i had been so impressed that i gave it a shot). other than that, i've been really happy with them. battery life is good, quality is definitely there, and it's so easy to change between bits on the impact driver. you won't be disappointed if you're looking for an "everyday" drill/driver for the house

why does the image have the drill bits but when i click on the deal links it's not mentioned.
This kit does not include any drill bits so I agree that the picture is a bit misleading.
On this topic, anyone has a suggestion for a drill bit set to use with this?

ive owned both of them for over a year. theyre fantastic. not too heavy. the drill definitely shows it's only 12v so dont expect a ton of power, but the impact driver is perfect for everyday needs. good battery life too.

the battery is compatible with other products so you can buy tool only and get a discount. i have the 12v battery reciprocating saw and it works just fine.

Yeah, Bosch (for the most part) dominates the 12v. (Avoid that 12v oscillating sander... ooof. Bosch needs to yank that off the market quickly.)

"BuT tHe ToRqUeS aRe BiGs iN mY MiLwAuKeE/DeWaLt!!!!!!"

Cool...

It's a 12v ... it's not the tool you want for driving in 16" Timber Lags.

...

Come next year, or 2023at the latest, Bosch will dominate the 18v lineup as well. The lineup if tools being tested right now are unreal. It's primarily because they are actually listening to what people want.
What's wrong with the 12V oscillating tool? Asking as someone who already owns it.

This is 12V, so there wouldn't be garden power tools anyway. You'll need at least an 18V platform for that.

I bought these like ten years ago and they're one of my favorite tool purchases ever. They've been plenty of power for 99% of my needs as a homeowner. I added the non impact driver too and now have four batteries between everything.

I have no experience with this Metabo kit, but its specs are massively superior and it looks like a great price at $150.

Pro Metabo:
* Roughly 2x more powerful.
* Batteries are higher capacity.
* Drill is 1/2 (vs. Bosch's 3/8), allowing larger drill bits.
* Drill is a hammer drill, which is vastly faster in masonry, block, and brick.
* Slider batteries may be more comfortable in-hand,
* Hard case.

Pro Bosch:
* $50 cheaper. If this is an assemble Ikea furniture and hang curtains tool set that's all you'll need.
* In-handle batteries result in a smaller tool, may be more compact.
* In my experience, Bosch batteries have very low self-discharge, allowing you to use the tool a few years after it was last charged. I don't know about Metabo.

I've posted before: I have it and like it. I agree with the positive comments above. My only beef is that the case is too small. But, I usually just carry the one tool I plan on using with other stuff in a separate kit.

I almost jumped on this, my dad has this drill and loves it. I've been looking to get a 12v drill / driver and missed out on the Milwaukee 12v fuel deal, which is still quite a bit more than this, but after seeing the stapler deal (and I kind of wanted T50 stapler to replace my aging manual one) I jumped on that and now I'll be holding out for another deal on the Milwaukee 12v fuel drill / driver. Hope I'm not waiting till next Christmas...
