Interested to hear someone's actual experience.. when you go to add to cart it asks which carrier you want to activate on. Cheapest being TMO, but it has to be a new line/account. Wondering how this works out if you create a new account and purchase/terminate.
Someone did post in the Samsung flip thread that they did this for Samsung flip and didn't have to pay anything to T mobile at all since the phone was already unlocked and purchased outright.

The response from the other thread is pasted below

I paid $0 to cancel a never-activated line. When you pick up the phone from bestbuy do not put that sim inside. Put any other sim in. When you call T-Mobile, if you never jotted down the never activated Ph #, you can use the SIM card it came with to look up the never activated account to be able to cancel . It's $0 cause the line was never activated and because you bought unlocked outright

I've tried multiple times to do this.. but always get an error:

"Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now."

I researched this problem, and tons of similar complaints from last few deals but no resolution. ConfusedConfused

You have to select a higher priced monthly plan, over $60, to avoid the error. For example you can choose the Magenta 55+ plan.

If I am opening a new account and it makes me select a plan so once I choose a plan, does the final check out cost shows the plan amount? Do I just pay 399 plus tax or anything else. Someone tried this and can post some more details? Also in after how much time you can cancel.

These are the charges that will be added to your T-Mobile bill, plus any applicable taxes, fees or surcharges.
Simple Choice North America 10GB+unRadio $0.00

Does that mean the extra line costs $0 a month?

Sorry, Magenta worked for me when I encountered a similar error during the Z Flip3 deal two weeks ago.
