I am working to spend 2nd $1000, as I already got my first $1000 credit posted to my account. Just spend on whatever you will spend anyway like cell/cable/insurance bills, you can prepay most of these as well. It's like all other amex offers, you can split your spending. So not much to lose, nothing to worry at all.
If I apply for this card, how about the chance to get this offer?

if they snatch it out of your account after you have already added it (and before you can use it), not sure why they would do that; they better have a good reason....like, it was an error. doesn't look good if they simply change their mind. otherwise, just blast an amazon offer of buy one get one free to everybody on thursday and pull it back on friday and watch all the orders flow in but none of them will trigger. obvious errors i can understand but there's a reason why this offer hasn't been "adjusted" yet. maybe they are still discussing and weighing legal options. people are clearly spending the money. i think amex can take a legal stand with the error but maybe not a moral one. when amazon makes these type of error, they stand by them (for the most part)....price mistakes.

Mind if I ask. When did you spend your first offer and what date did it close. I got my first email the very day it officially posted. But the credit hasn't shown yet. My first email came two days ago.

I purchased two additional phone cards for reserve to reach the $1000 (separate transactions of $500+ each).
Email didn't trigger but I'm hopeful the $1000 credit will post!
