Bestbuy cannot find my Tmo account ....wtf.. It keeps on saying SN does not match phone number?
Try 1111. Others had the ssn issue and used it to order the phone online.

Repeat after me: great display, I don't need it, wow factor, I don't need it, too bulky, I don't need it... Add to cart, checkout, confirm.
Exactly my thought and purchase process. It's arriving tomorrow. Luckily, returns are not difficult so I can still talk myself out of it.

Shows $15 trade in value for me.

Quote from calbear1995 :
If you can please confirm you were able to do this, that would be appreciated. I have a feeling the $200 trade-in value is for the SE 2020 version, since I don't see it listed anywhere else on that list. It would make sense, as the SE 2020 showed up as $150 when doing the trade-in online, so perhaps the in-store value is higher. But definitely if the SE 2016 version is a $200 value, I will do the same.
Quote from nelsjon :
I just got back from Bestbuy and they would not honor both the $800 off the ZF3 and the additional trade in value of a Note 10+ ($400). All the rep would tell me is that the system would not allow it and there was no way to override it.
I hope others can get both discounts!

Ok, I JUST did this at the store and store does not have to have it in stock, IF they can order it, it can be done.

They can order it and process "activation" on my line (T-mobile is what I have) and they will just ship it to my home (or pick up).

It HAS to be "Unlocked" phone though.

There was 1 guy who knew what he was doing and EVERYONE ELSE were CLUELESS - The guy literally had to keep pointing at the right button to press for the guy to do it right. Thank GOD the guy was there. They had to do "In-store" trade in promo separate from actual ORDER process. So, they did In-store trade in promo first, gave me $200 Best buy gift card right there (which can be used to partially pay for the phone - Which I did not since I have to charge the whole thing to my CC for extended warranty). I traded in my son's old iPhone SE (Gen 1) 64GB - value was $15 and there was $185 promo value on top.

Then, they did in-store order of the phone like normally without any trade-in. Also, when I asked about free Buds 2, the guy was like "that promo ended like 3 weeks ago", and I had to insist that is not the case and show them their OWN website showing the promo. They just scanned in the Galaxy buds 2 and it came up as $0.00

All in all, it was painful but it worked.

I too kept getting error messages while trying to checkout so headed to the store to bag this deal. Unfortunately it didn't work in-store either. Had to call T-Mobile customer service who informed me that my MAX Amplified plan, basically a glorified Magenta Max plan with some discounts for employees of large companies, wasn't eligible. Really bummed out since downgrading to Magenta Max would cost me $100 extra every month and not worth it in the long run.
Not the case. I'm on Magenta Max

This may be a dumb question, but on the in-store trade-in, do you have to give up your phone up front, or can you turn it in after you get the new phone?

They bagged it right there.

EDIT: It is a good question though what happens if it is my own phone that I am trading in. I don't know if I have to give it up right there or I can return with the phone later when order arrives at the store - trade-in has to be done at the store anyways.

Hmmm
the free buds were "returned"
‐------
your package has been returned to us.

Unfortunately, BBYGD was unable to deliver your package so they're returning it to us.

We'll begin processing your refund for the item(s) included in your package as soon as we receive the return
-------
what do I do?
There's probably no refund since they're free

call and explain (annoying) or reorder and return your first device (easier, but also annoying). i'd advise pickup if possible.

Thank you for sharing the experience. I, too, had pretty much the exact same experience as you.
I showed them the link you provided with regards to the $200 credit for the iPhone SE 2016 model. Like you, it was my son's 32GB locked to a carrier. They gave me $11.25 trade-in credit for the SE, plus another $188.75 credit to make it a total of $200 trade-in. He put that immediately onto a physical gift card. Then my order was placed for the 512GB Fold3 for $999.99 plus tax for a total of $1093.74.

I have the Chase Freedom Visa card, and as others here have mentioned, they have 5% cashback on Paypal purchases. I also have the RMN app and account, so I went into my RMN app and activated the 4% CB for BestBuy. Once there, I went to BestBuy's site and purchased two $500 BestBuy e-gift cards using Paypal but payment linked to Chase Freedom Visa (you can only do it one purchase at a time, as they limit it to a max of $500). The two e-gift cards arrived in my email inboxes within 30 mins while I was still in the store and the rep was still trying to set everything up. I still have a remaining e-gift card balance of $106.26 as well. The earbuds were added at the end before the final sale, showing the buds for $119.99, and then a credit for the same amount. The phone will arrive next Wed, and I will pick it up in-store.
He signed me up for TMobile's least expense unlimited plan today. He said it will not actually start until I receive the phone, and he didn't say anything about a minimal time required before I can cancel the account, so I imagine I could cancel once I have the phone in my possession.

So, in summary:
$1093.74 for phone including CA sales tax.
-$200 for iPhone SE 2016 trade-in credit (thanks hpark21!)
-$50 cashback from Chase Freedom Paypal promo
-$40 cashback from RMN app
-$100 (if I sell the earbuds)

Total cost of the phone: approximately $700, plus the trade-in value of more than this for the next generation of phone the following year. Is this a slickdeal? Absolutely!

P.S. If I could do this all over again, I would purchase one $500 BB e-gift card and one $400 BB e-gift card instead, so that I wouldn't have a remaining $106 gift card balance.

512GB fold 3 was $999? Not 256GB? I thought 256GB was 999 and 512GB was 100 more unless you added new line to T-mobile.

I am not sure. I am not a current TMobile customer, so I had to sign up as a new customer, and request a new number, since I don't plan to port over my number if I end up cancelling TMobile. But yes, for new customers, the 512GB was just $100 more than the 256GB version (which shows as $899). Totally worth it in my eyes.

Yeah, I tried very hard to like the phone but didn't work out. I was using it as my daily phone for One and a half months. Hopefully, Fold 4 will correct these issues.
