Is android really better than iOS these days? Haven't used android in Andrew years now.

But I'm tired of the iPhone and the limitations but love Face ID.

bought one for the wife because she was getting tired of her note 10+. this seems like a good deal consider no trade in necessary. we can sell our 10+ for ~350. which would bring this down to ~650 with free buds. not too shabby.

But if store isn't too far, in-store trade in value of Note 10+ is $450 to bring the price down to $550.

So, we would have to upgrade our line? Also, I am not seeing the Tmobile $899 deal. I would never want to upgrade my grandfathered simple choice plan to anything else for a phone upgrade tbh.
Make sure you choose the 128gb version

That's great! Will they accept a trade in if we didn't select trade in online order for this order?

This I don't know. I know they can ORDER it at the store and accept the trade in at that time and they can ship the phone to you if they do not have it in stock but I THOUGHT you actually have to initiate the trade-in + order at the store at the same time.
Perhaps if the order hasn't shipped, you can cancel the order and go into the store and do it? Only thing is, I do not know what happens if they do not have it in stock and you have a trade in. Mine, I could just hand it in right away since it is a phone I wasn't using and I did not mind waiting for the phone to ship.

So... What are the options of getting the device?

Open a new T-Mobile account and cancel immediately after you receive the phone? That requires SSN which is a soft or hard pull? I don't want to touch my credit currently as I'll be in the process of financing a car soon.

I'm currently with AT&T and I could probably add a line for an extra $35-$45 + activation(?, probably could get it waived).

Shouldn't need to add a line as for AT&T adding a line does NOT reduce price. Reduction of $100 only apply to new line for T-mobile and yes, opening a new account is a hard pull. That said, hard pull is about 10-15 point drop which you will recover in couple of months. If your credit score is around 800 then 10-15 point drop does not affect your car financing I would think. (Usually, for car financing 750+ is pretty much all you need).
Another option is that if you have a friend who has T-mobile post paid account, they can just add a line ($10-40/month depending on their account type), add the phone to their account and cancel the line right away and you should only pay whatever pro-rated line cost for the month. Since you are not financing the phone, it should not affect your friend's account/credit at all. Now, only issue here is that if they have 2 lines, going from 2 -> 3 lines USUALLY requires account change (I believe), same for going from 6 lines to 7 lines (I believe). It usually does not affect from 7 lines up to 12 which is usually the max # of lines one can have on an account. You can have up to 15 lines per SSN split into 2 accounts.

Ended up deciding to pull the trigger. Going to sell my s21 ultra for ~700 making this 300 with the Galaxy buds and $60 in best buy rewards. if I don't like it, easily can make up the $200 difference upgrading to the s22 ultra in February.

Their website isn't letting me verify my Tmo account with phone number and SSN.

When I went in store, I had to direct the employee to the $999.99 promo on the website. When I try to get the Buds, she tells me the Galaxy Buds promo ended weeks ago. I show her that the Z Fold on display literally says it comes with Galaxy Buds through Dec 31. She calls her supervisor and then tells me the promo is only for Verizon.

I'm at a bit of a loss. Has anyone gotten past their online verification? In store, if I have them put the phone and Buds in the same order, should it just ring up as free even on Tmo?
