Very good mic. Check out Bandrew reviews in his Podcastage channel on YouTube for his review. This is about the best USB mic you can buy and this is 1/2 the price from a year ago. PS…they don't make this model anymore. The new one is USB-C and isn't quite as high quality as this old school mini USB version. I've used it for Zoom stuff mostly, and you could very well podcast with this. It is upgradable to pro cables if you go heavy into podcasting at some point.

Note: You have to keep this mic very close to your mouth to have it pick up your voice so If you're not accustomed to it there will be a learning curve. Also, the mic must be in the camera frame to sound good on Zoom, so consider if you are willing to make that trade off to sound super crisp to the 5% of your coworkers who will notice the difference 🤷

It is now $50 for me. This coupons code took another $5 off to finalize at $45 shipped.

generally speaking, most pro audio mics are vastly superior to flashy gamer stuff...

Received it today. The microphone and the headphones are bundled in the same box. It is called an "Education Pack" AT-EDU25. The microphone only comes with two USB cables. There's no XLR cable.

Hmm. Did it come with the pleather mic carrying case like the mic does when purchased separately?

Thanks. Oddly enough I may just get the mic alone, as I wanted both the xlr and carrying case, and don't need the headphones.

Is the extra bundle worth it?

The accessory kit is all KnoxGear branded (desktop boom arm microphone stand, pop filter, and microphone shock mount). Quality seems to be pretty decent. I'm happy with it so far.

The deal is still live!

If the item isn't out of stock, or the price changed so much it's no longer a "slick deal" then the deal is still ongoing. SlickDeals staff is pretty prompt when it comes to Expired deals (you'll see the notice at the top of the forum thread).

Remember some of us have the option disabled "Direct to Store Links" = Off, this way we visit the forum and view the other comments and view feedback from others.

The mic is great, I sound so much better from my cheaper Logitech headset, and this sounds better than my sons Razer Kraken headset when it comes to the mic. I also purchased a mic boom and swivel arm from amazon (I wanted a certain style) and have it all set up, pretty spiffy!

The headset can plug into your pc/laptop but it also has the option on the actual microphone to plug in the headset, which was very nice for me considering I bought that swivel arm and needed more cord to "swivel" with lol! The headset is decent on comfort, within an hour or so though you'll start to feel the pressure, or maybe you don't have a gigantor head like me, you never know but for me after about an hour I was wanting to take a break for a few minutes. You may also notice a slight heat buildup in the ear cups, my ears could tell they were confined in a tight room that was sorta like a sauna. I could barely hear background noises, so they do block out 95% of noise which is fantastic. So all-in-all for the price and better sound, I feel it's worth it and with my swivel arm and boom that folds our from behind the 50" LCD, I'm thrilled but it was extra work. I would recommend shopping around on Amazon for a good accessory kit with arm and mic, as many of those are comparable to the one they offer in the package deal BUT the one included int he package is an exact match, you risk some of these not being entirely compatible (I had to dremel part of mine to get two separate ones working with the wall mount I needed it to work with).

All joking aside, for $50 you get a great mic and while I'm no singer or vocal type of person, I'd imagine this mic would be better than any low-end/low-cost mic or headset you could buy locally, and the mic should surpass most headset mics on the market (unless it's one of those arm, leg, AND a pinky type of wireless headsets i.e. $$+$).

GF does virtual/remote singing lessons for kids and is looking for a new mic. Would it be a good one or other suggestions around this price?

Does she need a backing track? If so, then this mic isn't the best fit.

She should get either a condenser mic (which can pick up a backing track played in the room somewhere along with her voice) or an audio interface with loopback. I've been taking remote singing classes, and my setup of Yamaha AG03 + Shure SM58 works really well.

Probably has one built-in. Also, the way you hold the mic is important; don't hold it directly in front of your mouth, hold it at an angle facing your mouth.
