This set was a front-page deal twice earlier this year, and this price is slightly cheaper than either of those times. As I said at the time, get a Forrest Dado King if you're willing to pay premium price for premium quality, but otherwise get something like this. Hell, I own it myself. It's good.

Some FAQs:
Yes, if you have a 10" table saw, this should be a good blade for your saw.

Yes, you can cut many of the same dados with a router as with a dado set. You can also cut dados using sets like this using a radial arm saw.

No, you do not want an 8" or 10" dado blade for your 10" table saw, unless it's a cabinet saw. As a general rule, if your table saw runs on standard 120V power, you want a 6" or smaller dado set.

Yes, they can double as ninja stars. Practice, practice, practice.

One needs to set up an account with delphiforums, but Mr. Sawdust blog is interesting. I grew up as a kid helping an Uncle that built custom cabinets on the job site with a Radial.

For at least me, two things with Radials are at the top of need to know .... saw setup and the right blade. There are a lot of available adjustments from the table to the swing arm. Once set up, you need a negative rake blade if pulling a crosscut. If one uses a standard box store blade, most have a positive rake and they will climb or pull into the material. Not much different than a sliding miter, pushing with material behind the blade resolves that issue until you can get the correct blade.

The old 14" and 16" DeWalt are still widely used commercially.
I used to restore the big old Dewalts, like the 16" to 20" GEs and their numbered descendants, as a hobby. For space reasons I just restore and resell consumer and contractor models now.

Just an FYI for anyone who jumped on the $250 SKIL table saw deal recently, note that SKIL says you need to buy the 8 inch stack (and a throat plate).

8" for sure. I got the Dewalt 8" stacked set 3 years ago and no complaints at all. Cuts very smooth dados with no ridges in the dado. The 4520 is more than powerful enough to easily turn an 8" dado. I use it on just about every project I do.

New to table saw, Dewalt DWE7491RS said Max Width of Dado – 13/16" | Arbor Size – 5/8", what does that translate to dado blade size?

That is a 10" saw so you could do an 8" blade with no issues. For those small jobsite saws I might go 6" though. 6 of one....

I don't have a table saw, and I'm not sure what dado even means, but I feel like I should be in for 1 on account of the ninja star aspect.

Nice, I've had an old wobbler set that's sat on the shelf for the last 10 years. Time to upgrade so I have a better tool sitting on the shelf for the next 10.

What's this talk about not getting an 8" for a 10" saw? I have an old-ish 10" Jet contractor saw (not refurb retro cool, but old enough to be somewhat unsafe! - 25yrs?) with 220v 9amp motor. That should be fine right?

Oh, that Jet should more than handle an 8" dado stack. I disagree with using an 8" on pretty much any jobsite saw, even though it technically fits. But a Jet contractor saw running on 220V 9A is a different class of saw, in my book.

.
In my book from countless 10" saws used over the years, when I can buy a good 8" for the same or similar price as a 6", it is not that I usually need more depth cut than the 6" provides, but I get more teeth on the 8" blade turning at the same speed for longevity. That 8" Oshlun is superior to the Freud with more teeth on the main blades and even 6 cutters on the chippers.

We used to send out to get sharpened, but at this price for the 6" or the 8" Oshlun, I just give to the saw sharpener guy who cuts me a better deal for when it matters.

I'm speaking more to the saw's ability to reach and maintain speed and torque under load rather than the specific models of the blades, since most dado set models are available in 6" and 8" sizes.
