VA panel, most don't like them.

Make your own decision.

I believe it was 250 on Costco a few days ago.
Good about the monitor is that it can tilt in portrait mode without requiring additional stand/mount.

This is a really good read. One post convinces you to go VA; the next convinces you to go IPS. So it appears to come down to which post you read last.

just an alternative viewpoint here. I have tried multiple IPS and VA. If you game in the dark, black levels on IPS are not good. I have this monitor and am very pleased with it. I have a Viewsonic Elite 240hz IPS that is now a side monitor because I hate the black levels on it so much.

I was dead set on getting an IPS gaming monitor. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me, and I ended up getting one of these instead.

I was really impressed with the picture quality. Its much brighter than my last VA display, which I replaced.

Overall, I'm happy with it. Especially the HDR, and G-sync features. I'm keeping it.

I picked up a pair of these recently on BF sale at Best Buy. Org. $400, got it on sale for $300, then it dropped to $250 day before they arrived and had BB price match. Yes, it's not an IPS panel, but for a VA, the picture quality is pretty amazing. Great black levels, vibrant colors, fast refresh, G-Sync compatible, and as mentioned, can turn 90ยบ to portrait mode. A great overall monitor for graphic design and gaming. I upgraded from dual 23" screens to 2 of these and WOW!!! I'm loving them!! Would definitely recommend. A good buy even at $300.

I have this monitor. I'm really happy with it. Personally, I think 4K resolution would be better suited for 32" class monitors, but that has nothing to do with the topic of VA vs IPS.

I only notice the pixel density when I'm working, anyway. Games look fantastic.

Edit: my mistake, I have the 600-B, which I believe is the same panel, just with the more basic stand. Mine doesn't rotate.

I actually prefer VA especially for their overall uniformity and better contrast for black. IPS glow is also incredibly distracting when watching movies.

Note that these are the model with AMD FreeSync, not NVIDIA G-Sync as the Costco/BB model.

affordable ips 144hz or higher 1ms 32-34 inch gaming monitors is just around the corner as the old stock of non hdmi 2.1 compliant monitors will begin to become worthless.

be patient and you should be able to find a 32-34 inch ips 144hz or above 1ms gaming monitor for $300+-

the one i have currently was $800 and I'm confident this time next year it will be less than 1/2 of that.

I've owned multiple VA panel monitors as well as an IPS monitor and to be honest, they are all fine. VA has really good contrast and I've been happy with them. I think it really comes down to personal preference and you have to use both to be able to make real decision.

VA vs IPS is over hyped. Check the Hisense U7G threat were people were returning their 75 because it was IPS and they wanted VA like the 65.. monitors the exact opposite, people want the IPS and not the VA. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I bought the Costco version and returned this one last month. Happy with my purchase. Also ran the 850 (IPS version) side by side for a few weeks and returned it too. The difference in the IPS/850 is real subtle.
