Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
I went to the store to pick up an Open Box Satisfactory condition one (online price currently shows $1,079, but I think it was $1,040 earlier). At checkout, it ended up coming up for $975+tax, and mine is in like new condition. Using it has been great so far tonight. Typical great Surface design, probably won't use the hinge feature or stylus very often just like my original Surface Book, but I think this definitely competes with other computers in the $1,000 range. If anybody is paying $1,600 for this, they're not getting good value, and even the $1,300 sale price is pushing it. But if you can find a deal, I can't imagine this type of computer getting much better.
I think the only thing that will make me regret this purchase is if the 3050ti version drops to ~$1,300 open box over the next few months. It's currently $1,800 ($2,100 new) which I would never approach since I have a gaming computer/SeriesX.
The price doesn't matter as the OP is buying one for everyone that comments on this thread.
Price was there when I originally posted it. Somehow it got removed. I added it back in. Sorry I wasted 3 seconds of your life clicking a link. Take care.

Any idea why your price lowered so much at checkout? I paid the full $1299 for mine with no regrets.
Also, do you really think a surface device will drop as much as you are wishing it will?

Definitely not sure, model and condition were correct, but Open Box discount showed up as -$325. Yes, the way the Best Buy open box prices work, is the price goes lower when the item is on sale. It's currently full price, $2,100, but the open box price is $1,637.99 for the lowest condition. So if it goes on sale for $1,800, expect the open box price to drop to $1,400 at the most for Fair condition, which can still be Like New with good luck. However, it's very YMMV if one would be available in the lower conditions anyways as there are currently none in North Texas for example.
And absolutely, $1,300 makes sense for anybody that uses the hinge or pen functionality or if they have a more specific use case. $1,600 is overpriced for anybody compared to Surface Pro 8 imo, and then I think for people like me that just want a nice computer, $1,000 is the sweet spot.
My main negatives are the lack of ports, the screen resolution is quite a bit lower than SP8 (not that it looks bad at all, it's the best I've ever used outside of OLED screens), definitely feels a half pound heavier than it should be, and I wish the internal graphics were a little bit stronger like the i7 version (80 EUs vs 96 EUs, but that's on intel, not Microsoft). I'm plugging in an external GPU tomorrow, so excited to try out some games with that.
