Jeez, what a waste of resources. A neat gadget, but I think it's a lot easier to solve the problem of cold coffee by just pouring yourself a smaller cup. 14 ounces is small. Shouldn't require a battery, charger, and a smart phone to drink something hot.

2 Pieces = Mug and Coaster, not 2 Mugs.
I bought this in store.

I thought it was insane to spend that on a cup until I tried it. It changes your tea or coffee experience. Battery does not last very long. I read the number 80 mins but feels a lot shorter. When it is on the coaster it stays hot regardless of battery charge. So far the only cons I saw are 1. Small battery charger and take long to charger (2hrs). 2. It can't charger while being used. 3. The highest setting is 145f enough range for tea and coffee (131-139f) but not for hot chocolate. 4. Lack of assistant integration. 5. Light indicator is only on one side so if you use your left hacks to drink you can't see the light.

My son bought us these last Christmas. They're great! Keep your coffee piping hot, at Your exact temperature. Sitting out on the cold porch or in the living room, it's always perfect. It does one job and it does it perfectly. No complaints. Still use them daily.

I've used mine every day since I got it in May. It's expensive, but I mentioned it as a gift idea and as you get older it's tougher to give people ideas for gifts. I really like it and enjoy perfectly hot coffee the entire cup through as I'm working from home and enjoying a couple cups in the morning.

The downside is I have the black version and the ceramic coating is chipping away on the bottom. I drink my coffee black and don't use metal utensils so it's coming off due to the acidic coffee and normal cleaning. The cup doesn't do a great job sensing when the coffee is gone so it will super heat the last little bit and bake it to the bottom of the cup, adding to the ceramic coating issues. Ember customer service was phenomenal and is sending me a replacement for free.

I'm just here to say - I get that at a glance this seems like overkill or unnecessary. But after buying one to try, I'll never go back.

Every moment of drinking coffee is now equally enjoyable, because it's the exact same temperature each sip. When I get stuck on a call or in a meeting or talking to the neighbor, I don't have to go microwave and overheat the thing then slowly enjoy it less and less as the minutes go by.

Is it necessary? Certainly not. But if you or someone you like a lot spends all day working from home, it's the perfect remote work companion.
But it's old warm coffee. Unless you drink Folgers I would expect the taste to be pretty bad after more then 30 min.

People keep responding with dumb responses. Yes the cheap warmer will heat your beverage, it will also burn it. Yes your insulated cup will keep it hot but it will also get cold or with some of them that are really good keep it way to hot for a really long time.

Ember mugs keep your beverage at the temperature you want it to be. If you think that 100 bucks is to much so be it. I personally get trapped in meetings and forget about my coffee for 30 mins or so and it is nice that it is at the temperature I like to drink my coffee at when I get back to it.
Maybe I could bring my coffee with m... nah, I'll just spend $100 on a mug.

Just exactly how long does it take for some of you to drink a cup of coffee? An hour?

I don't get why people are getting so worked up about this product and how others choose to spend their money. If you don't like it, click the back button, no need to post irrelevant comments.

I saw this for sale at my local Costco with the asterisk (indicating they won't carry it any more), figured I'd get one and take a risk before they sold out. And I'm really pleased with it - I normally drink just one or two Americanos (black) a day, and this is great for keeping it hot all day long. At night, a cup of tea lasts over an hour at the perfect temperature. I'm actually surprised how much I like it.

Had one of these amber travel mugs. 1) is expensive 2)It's heavy because of the battery 3)you can't really keep coffee tasting good by constantly warming it up. just use a thermo 4)battery life is crap 5)just don't.

$20 is to much. My $7 ozark cup keeps coffee hot for 2-3 hrs. And its not breakable.
BS. A vac insulated bottle with lid, yes, but a cup? No.
