First time I've ever used the settings that make it impossible for you to die, and it was due to the amount of random battles (and RNG that would often wipe your party and waste the time you spent grinding), along with the fact that you must overlevel to progress in this game; it's a slow slog of unfun content. Now the story was great, which is what kept me going.

You actually have to grind to level up in order to beat some difficult bosses - quite old school. If thats not your thing, you may want to pass.

Yes. It was released post launch. It includes an option for 60fps or for a resolution mode. I believe the resolution mode looks sharper but most people still seemed to prefer the 60fps mode. I'd check it out on YouTube. At a quick glance I thought it looked way better after the update. Unfortunately I believe it's DQ1 and 2 that doesn't have an upgrade path. With that one I believe you have to just buy the Switch 2 version.
