Haven't been with any type of Verizon service for years. Can I move a Redpocket sim around from phone to phone without having to jump through any hoops? Of course the phones would be unlocked and have the proper bands for Verizon.
I have a number of times. Couple of times testing out dual-sim phones.
Twice when I upgraded my primary phones. No issues other than last time when
upgrading my primary to a new Pixel had to email Red Pocket to reinstate my hot-spot
for my new Pixel. Don't know if my Red Pocket / tower service (AT&T) had any influence
in this situation.

What sim card type should I choose for my phone Google Pixel5? I'm currently using Google Fi free 3-month service coming with the phone. I need transfer my number and BYOD (the phone) to Red Pocket.
Thanks!

This plan only offers one network choice. Otherwise, choose another plan with the network you prefer.

I did two years of this plan on the CDMAS network for my parent's third phone, which basically just sits in the 2nd floor of their house. My last yearly plan ended in December and I decided at the time to transition to the GSMT network. But in the meantime, I ported the number to Xfinity under their $200 BYOD GC offer, with the intention of staying only 3+ months to qualify for the GC. I mainly did that because I didn't want to deal with an internal RedPocket port from one network to another, which is known to cause problems. The Xfinity port didn't cost me anything incrementally except about an extra $2/month in taxes and fees, because I maintain two other lines for my parents on Xfinity. I'm now thinking that I shouldn't pay $30 for another year due to the FreedomPop free GSMT plan available from Walmart for one $10 upfront payment for the SIM.
How much cost for two lines at Xfinity? I thought about $17 per line, but you said extra $2/m for 2nd line.

I see GSMA and GSMT ($5/month for 500MB data). Not sure which one I should choose for my current phone (Google Pixel5a)

Your phone should handle either but you need to figure which network is best in your area. Check your coverage maps and ask your friends which network they use, ATT/gsma or TMobile/gsmt.

If I already have a line with RP that is expiring within a month, can I purchase this to extend my current line?

I'm a long-time Xfinity customer who maintains 2-3 lines for the parents. I'm also grandfathered at the $12/gb tier. My parents mostly use the lines for talk/text, so we never go above 1gb/month. So, each month costs me a base of $12 for data usage for all my lines, However, each line also incurs about $2/month for taxes. That $2 in taxes for each line is what I was referring to in terms of incremental cost.

To illustrate, a few months ago, I only had 3 lines. So my total monthly cost was about $18 (12+ 2 x 3).

In contrast, this month I actually have 7 lines. 4 of those lines are recent port-ins to get $200 GCs. However, all those phones are hardly ever powered on so they don't use any data. Thus, I never go above $12 for the first GB. But I still need to pay $2 in taxes for each line. My bill next month will be around $26 (12 + 2 x 7).

Yes, if you are already on a gsmt plan. Just opt for renewal/existing sim. You have 90 days to apply the code.

you can have an unlimited call/txt 2nd number using Google Voice, instead of getting a dual sim phone with this limited plan... plus GV works anywhere in the world, just need internet (cell or wifi)

this plan is great for home alarms, younger kids, loners/antisocial people, GPS tracking devices, etc... not as a 2nd line when you have free and robust options like GV
