I broke my nice headphones and have been in the market for something for a few weeks. Found this on ebay today, Factory refurbished HD660S for $299 and you can apply the 15% off code (SAVEONCR15) to take $44 off. I live in a state with sales tax so ended up $281 out the door.

These headphones are $500 brand new

any 600 series headphone (600, 650, 6xx, 660s) are like 95% the same. it's redundant to have multiples of these
sundara > 660s. only $30 more for a brand new set on eBay

I love both, just sayin (and as a hobbyist I've spent about $15k in headphones this year alone, buying/flipping everything under the sun).

thx a lot! Was just looking for one.

I bought these used off an ebay seller because they looked pristine. Paid 240 total, but damn I was hoping for this deal through Senn 12 days ago. Timing can be frustrating. I do like them though, not as much as my Sundara's but they are more analytical vs my 6XX. Much easier to drive thx to the 150 ohm drivers. Lately I've been just enjoying them daily with the other 2 sidelined for now.

You have some pretty good headphones there already. There won't be a big difference between 650 and 660. You should consider taking a more dramatic step up next to something the HE6v2 which has been as low as $550 when on sale. A great deal at that price.

Next time those HE6V2 hit that price new I gotta get them, lol. The grille mod some have done looks amazing as well.

Man I'm really tempted to get one. I have the 650 and the 58x.. I was eyeing the new hd560s... Should I....

If you want more detail in the upper mids and treble then yes, and a bit more soundstage for gaming. Otherwise it's not a huge upgrade. I don't regret grabbing them despite having 6XX's.

Is there a reasonable amp under $60 for these?
Edit bought an Atom+ amp b grade for about $100 delivered. A grade is $111 delivered

I use the Qudelix-5K to power the HD58X (150-ohm) and it works great. So it should have no problem for these. I'm tempted to pick these up, but the HD58X already exceeded my expectations so I need to stop looking lol.
IMO sell the 58X (I did) and go with these. You'll be glad you did with proper DAC/Amp setup.

This is not wrong, but you will notice the differences. The 650/6XX definitely have the "veil" that many describe. These are more tight with instrument separation.

I'm 100% with you owning both. The 660s definitely get the Senn "Veil" out from under that experience with the 650's though. I love my Sundara's!

Pretty good price but I think these are a tougher sell now considering the 6XX goes on sale for $180 new and the Sundara open box goes for $250-270 on sale. I think most people will probably prefer the Sundara to the 660S. However Sennheisers are built well with good QC and will hold up for many years if you aren't super rough on them. The Sundara is a bit more of gamble for QC and longevity.
