Also once you relock the bootloader, does the firmware ever try to prevent future unlocks?
I used to flash custom ROMs but these days, I need google pay, bank apps, Netflix etc to work reliably.
I am with RedPocket. Any suggestions regarding how to deal with the situation are weclome.
I'm using Mint. I have the 8 and was easy to unlock. I would imagine that the 8T would be the same
I used this to unlock it
Unlocking
WITH SIM CARD OUT and CONNECTED TO WIFI here's a good step by step.
Its settings -> wifi & network -> Sim&network -> At the bottom "network unlock". I requested permanent unlock,
It might take a couple of minutes or even fail. If it does fail just do it again until it works"
Wow I just got my 8.
It really was this simple to unlock. Took like 60 seconds. Can't comment 8t

Looks like it's my firefox browser and all of the protection plugins screwing with the page load. Thanks for the reply as I would have never known.
Holding out for a price drop. Hopefully soon...........
I had OnePlus 6T and thank god I don't have issue till this time buying new deal OP8.
I can't get a straight answer from their rep who will take several days to get one reply. Trade-in is a huge pain that they judt de-value all old phones and mine suddenly drop $100.
On the other hand, their order process will not help you to get the job done, they missed out my trade-in and no one to help.
On top of that, T-Mobile locked version is a piece of J*** compared to unlock version.
Does the $20 voucher have an expiration date?

Will flash the European version so I can use dual sim support. Sweet.
This is really one nice and smooth phone! I will probably wait to bootloader unlock.
Summary - If you are a postpaid t-mobile customer and the 8t is paid in full you don't have to wait 40 days to sim/network unlock (Mobile device unlock (MDU) is the term t-mobile uses) and reach out to @TMobileHelp on twitter to request a special unlock for a device purchased directly from the manufacturer. That should do it and it worked like a charm.
Hope this helps
