I'm trying to figure out if it's just because I've been looking lately, or if it's been tool deals gone wild here lately.

With the Home Depot hack, I've got more powert tools than can last a lifetime. Anyway thanks for posting, always appreciate good deals. It seems like over summer tools we're insanely expensive and recently there's been tons of deals.

Search for HD deals on SD. Many involve buy this/get this. The hack is simply keeping what you want and returning or not picking up what you don't want/need.

Do not order this from Lowes unless you live near one of their stores. I ordered one and it got delivered damaged. Tried the automated return option from my account page but it would only give me the option to return in store. The closest store to me is about 50 miles away. It ended up taking 4 calls to the main customer service number and two phone calls with the "local" store before I could get them to email me a shipping label to return what was delivered to me damaged.

Update: After doing my best YouTube review it would seem OPs deal is better than HD. The Atomic is NOT smaller or lighter. It's 2,000 OPM less than the XR, non-adjustable speed, no belt clip, no bag.

Alternatively HD has the DeWALT Atomic Brushless oscillating tool with a 2AH battery, two blades and a charger (no bag).

Anyone know how the Atomic stacks up against the one posted above?

Good deal. Got this last time it was at this price and it works well. The battery that it comes with isn't as nice as other batteries. Doesn't have the indicator lights, but it's another battery. So I don't mind.

After purchasing this one from Lowe's last time it was on sale and using it for a project, I think I'd rather have the 2Ah batter over the bag and the little batter it comes with from Lowe's. This thing drains pretty fast.

A few of the companies are releasing/have released a new line of tools so that might have helped a little.

Awesome deal! Dewalt's oscillating tool is very comfortable to use for rough cuts and non-finish work. It has a wide oscillation so it has a slightly larger arc and the handle really can't be beat. I find myself using this one as my daily driver and I now have a Bosch that I use for finish and precision work.

Agreed. I have been looking for that deal myself as I missed it as well. Dewalt doesn't sell the depth guide either, only the individual parts, which will run you about $50 or so. This deal is OK, but it pops up every couple months it seems. The better kit is the one to get if it ever drops in price again.
