Now the cross line laser linked above is a perfectly usable, if budget, tool. If you have a very steady hand, you can hand hold it to a wall to use in a similar fashion, but it lacks the point function and has a bulkier form factor.
I have a LOT of Bosch tools and multiple lasers. I found this one to be more of a novelty.
Best laser levels? My favorite is the old style PLS 180G from about the time they were bought by Fluke corp. Those older units had heavier pendulums which settled the lines faster and danced less with ambient vibration.
The new PLS 180G (same model number) is not as stable, and about on par with the mid-tier Bosch (GLL-100gx), Makita (sk-105,106, etc), Stabila (LAX-300g), and Dewalt crossline lasers. They all have similar brightness, stability, accuracy in the $2-300 range. The Dewalt line is just a little fatter but similar brightness. I haven't tried the Milwaukee lasers yet, but I'm done throwing time and money at testing for now. I hope to get another 5-10 years out of my PLS and see what's new.
For value, I've twice bought Bosch GLL-100gx series refurbs for about $100. I've never had one fail; I just keep gifting them to people on my team.
For budget, I like the Huepar Box-1g. I used one daily for about 2 years, but the pendelum seized up one day and stopped self-leveling-- I think the cause was leaving it in my vehicle overnight when the temps went to single digits F. I'm sure the bigger names would use a higher quality grease in that joint. I liked it enough for the price to buy it again.

It's worth buying a green one, and it's worth spending just a little extra for something rated to cast a line at 100' or more. Don't buy the absolute cheapest option. There are reasonable daylight and indoor situations where they just aren't usable.
Seems like the would be the better deal?

"Included Components: (1) GLL 30, (1) MM 2 Flexible Mounting Device, (2) AA Batteries"
So yeah, it might. The mounting device in the listing from the OP seems to be hot garbage, but the device itself is solid for a one-or-two use DIY'er.
I'm replacing an old GMC rotating laser level. It is huge, heavy and uses 4 D cell batteries. It served me well, but it's time to move on.

I (and many, many others) don't like those here-today-gone-tomorrow no-name chinese brands. The QC is non existent, and the warranty and support are a joke. Most of the time their products crap out in a few months of regular use.
That's not to say there isn't an occasional "diamond in the rough" with them, but I'd rather throw my money at a company that has been around a while (Bosch, Dewalt, Klein, etc) because they stand behind their stuff for a long, long time.
Glad you found one of the diamonds, though! ;-)
