I was trying to find a desktop computer to replace my ~2014/2015 model so I can use my 2k monitor in my office. This came up in my search on OfficeDepot. From what I can tell, this same model was a FP deal back in March for slightly more (https://slickdeals.net/f/14908247-ideacentre-5-amd-desktop-tower-amd-ryzen-7-4700g-16-gb-ddr4-3200mhz-567).

I'm not sure how well this price has aged but I thought I'd post it up and see what others think. Let me know if I'm missing anything.

https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...0Q3-Tower/ Now $569.99

EDIT: The previous deal looks like it had a mouse and keyboard so that is something to consider when comparing the prices. I can't tell for sure but I think this new deal comes with a keyboard.

EDIT 2: There are some coupons for a free item with a minimum purchase. I opted for a personal humidifier that has a list price of $39.99.

absolutely no reason for this system to be any thing larger than half the volume of its case.
all seriousness, you can find this very same configuration minus the DVD drive on their laptop (i am typing on a T14G1 that has 4750G), why can they reuse the same M/B and package the entire system to a much smaller case?
huh? your laptop has a 4750G cpu in it?

I used to live and die by trio monitors until it messed up my neck. Can consider one big 42"+ monitor or a large TV that supports HDMI 2.0 and use software (e.g. WinKey+Left/Right) to lock the window to a grid. I recommend WinSplit revolution if you'd like to use the numerical keypad as shortcuts.

I remember buying an HP with Ryzen 4700 onboard graphics and it's also 1VGA+1HDMI at the back (probably the standard design) and returned it because there's no properly working Ubuntu drivers for it at the time.
Its a problem of not having a severe enough angle on the side monitors, you need long arms for equidistant viewing on all sides.

Does it only do 30hz? Thanks
Yes this only has hdmi 1.4 thus it will only do 4k@30hz. It's listed on this spec sheet:

I ordered a HP Envy Desktop for my daughter on Dec 1, it says estimated shipping Dec 22 and delivery Dec 28. According to their website, they haven't started building it yet....

It's on page one of the comments and I actually ended up going with that one. I just need to return the one in this post when it comes in.

If you're looking for a desktop for office type work may want to think about eBay you can usually get off lease desktops with reasonable specs in the 250 to $300 range.

I'm with you on this, also a dual monitor guy, but hard to find desktops with dual hdmi in this price range
I'm looking to do a dual screen and a desktop in this price range and recommendations or advice? Are there video cards or motherboards with dual HDMI in deals like this or are there other options?

There are many cases put there that are half the size, Intel Nuc, Asus, from Lenovo & HP and more. Some ppl like a full desktop case since it allows for greater expansion.

You already pointed out "minus the DVD drive". Does your T14G1 have an internal power supply? Any PCIe slots? How about a spot for a 2.5" and 3.5" drive?

Doesn't matter if you need those things or not. If you don't, clearly this is not the product for you. But, that's why it doesn't have a laptop form factor.
