1. What's the EBB Program?
The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) is a government program facilitated through the FCC to help families and households struggling to afford phone and/or internet service due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Depending on the carrier or ISP, you may be entitled to free or discounted recurring charges. Households interested should familiarize themselves with the program, and upcoming changes[getemergencybroadband.org] (beginning 12/31/21) by visiting the FCC's official EBB program page[fcc.gov].
2. What's in the deal?
If you qualify, you get unlimited talk & text + 35GB of data for free. There is no credit card
required, though you do need to submit proof of eligibility. You can select the BYOD option or purchase a new smartphone at a discounted price.
You must activate your plan by 12/31/2021 in order to take advantage of this 35GB deal until March. In March, the free data allotment will drop to 7GB of 5G/4G data + unlimited data 3G speeds (512kbps). You will be automatically switched to this free plan.
3. What if I activate after 12/31/2021?
You can still receive the 100% free service, though the free data allotment will be 7GB of 5G/4G data + unlimited data at 3G speeds (512kbps) Other alternatives do your research 4. How do I know if I qualify?
A household is eligible if a member of the household meets one of the criteria below:
● Experienced a substantial loss of income due to job loss or furlough since February 29,
2020 and the household had a total income in 2020 at or below $99,000 for single filers
and $198,000 for joint filers;
● Participates in certain assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, or Lifeline;
● Has an income that is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
● Approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or
the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility
Provision in the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, or 2021-2022 school year;
● Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year;
● Meets the eligibility criteria for a participating provider's existing low-income or
COVID-19 program.
5. How do I submit proof of my eligibility?
At the end of the application, you'll be directed to the National Verifier. Here you will submit
your proof of eligibility. This step must be completed in order to qualify.
6. What network does this work on?
This deal works on Boost Mobile's expanded data network.
7. Is my phone compatible with Boost?
Most popular, unlocked GSM phones can be activated on our network. You can visit https://my.boostmobile.com/learn-more to check your device's compatibility.
8. Is this only for existing Boost Mobile customers?
No, this offer is for anyone who qualifies.
9. Will I ever get charged for this service?
No. There is never any payment from the customer to Boost Mobile for EBBP. Customers for EBBP never even provide a credit card so therefore a charge will never occur.
He applied on November 25th and got instantly approved. Then on December 30th, it said his application got rejected. He still has service so I'm not sure what's going on.
Thereotically he can get 2 benefits and the first provider will go to jail for falsifying records and trying to still from the government! This is TracFone, I mean SafeLink, you are talking about, right?

I'll just have them remove their service from them all together and find somebody else that's better because if they're that sorry of a company they already look like they're trying to strain it straws to get customers into their company and it isn't working out for them especially since they won't give a free cell phone to people like other companies will when the government paid them money to be doing so! You can't tell me that every one of those companies didn't get money to give free devices to people because you know they did and they pocketed every bit of that money of the people they didn't give a device to they cheated the government and they cheated its citizens trying to make do in a world where they tried their best to make their means and now that they're having a problem and then the government allow someone to screw them over is totally wrong and they should go to jail for it
Has anyone had issues with activating online? When trying to activate this ebb program for my mother the site validates my imei as valid for activation but prompts me to call their cs #. I do so but their cs tells me that ebb programs must be activated online or in store. Perhaps this means their online activation portal is currently down? I messaged their cs on sd but so for no response. I'll try again later i guess. Will go to a boost b&m later on if need be. But preferable not as the boost stores around me are quite shady.
EDIT - the site was down. Online activation went like clockwork.

Are you signing up for ACP, program replacing the ebb you get $30 month instead of old $50?
If you call back ask if you can get lifeline by itself in the ACP on another separate part and see if they can give you that answer lot of companies are acting like they never knew what lifeline was and don't want anything to do with it because it don't pay as much out as the other benefit does. The old rule was on the ebb that you could have both the ebb plan and lifeline which meant that you would have lifeline for your calling and texting and your broadband would be on the ACP plan. I don't see why it's any different today than when it was at the end of last year for the ABB.
Actually the activation was not so smooth. Wewere given a number but the account is frozen? no calls can be made. when a call is attempted a boost robocall picks up starting that that the account has no balance. it even says this after we add a $1 to the account. has this happened to any other sders? Well call cs later
Edit* - resolved - $10 needs to be added onto the account. I guess that's what the other sders are referring to

I guess Boost's scam here ought to be closed if they're not going to be transparent with it's users!
I purchased the $1 Boost Mobile 2GB promotion SIM kits, and tried to add the ACP plan that I signed up for my dad.
It didn't work.
Seems like the $1 SIM kits are preloaded and now Bootmobile has two separate system; my.boostmobile.com vs www.boostmobile.com.
Those two websites didn't share the data/record; I can log in via my.boostmobile.com but not www.boostmobile.com
I was trying to avoid to buy $10 BYOD SIM kits, but I have to.

Boost Mobile said that when you sign up they were going to send you SIM cards to use and usually that's the way it works with any of those providers!
So I signed up and verification was relatively easy. Instructions are unclear however. I received an email stating I needed to purchase a hotspot device. After I receive the device I'm supposed to activate with a special promo code and select the acp plan. That all seems straight forward but I'm disappointed in the up front cost of the device. $50 when their terms say a discounted $25 device will be available. Which honestly should be $0 since there's a $100 device credit included in the program.
Seems like a gov issue though since many people are complaining about the inaccessibility of the device credit.
As is I've spent $50 but hope to have an easy setup process with the plan discount.

Keep us informed what they promised and what you get as some love know what they promised.
I hope your device works. If they use the old Sprint network, it would not work around my area for a friend with people for pcs internet and also Newphone and Cintex Wireless.
Did anyone get a non 5G android phone working? After ordering a sim card (and paying the $10), I was first told by CS they sent the wrong sim card type (orange background sim).
Then they shipped out a new sim card but it was also invalid. After calling them again, I was informed that phone must be 5G compatible. This seems a bit ridiculous, as the phone I'm trying to activate is a moto x4 and not that old.
And when I initially went to their website, it claimed that the IMEI number was Boost compatible...

Is this through ACP? If so, Boost doesn't know what they are doing.
I'm already enrolled in the ebbp program through xfinity saving $50 per month, can one enroll for this as well? Trying to read online but super confusing, anyone know??
if you have the ebb through comcast you automatically qualify for their "internet essentials" program (usually you need to cancel your internet, and wait 90 days to qualify). internet essentials is: $9.95 a month for 50mb dl, 10mb up. that frees up your ebb/acp to move to another provider.
