FYI, WD will soon be announcing the SN850X update of this drive. Most likely with upgraded specs.
Thanks OP. That SR71 was alot faster than a B-52.laugh out loudLMAO Even in a crash dive with the wings ripped off!

This is the one folks!

The 1TB was $144 at its' lowest point in the space time continuum.

This also comes with a free heat sink.

What are heat problems?

Are you guys actually having any performance impact?
I should have said it runs pretty hot in the PS5 per testing compared to other brands so not sure if it running that hot would lead to problems/performance impact in the future...?

Would this be the F-22 Raptor of SSD NVMe drives?

F-22, F35, and Space X are coming with the new 690 MOBOs and associated hardware.Smilie

I built a new system and recycled my intel CPU to minimize cost. But eventually I will build a 690 when my present system fails to perform as needed. Could be a long time as it plays Flight Simulator with no issues.Smilie

Built a high end 590 for my grandson before internet sales tax was implemented in Florida and parts were plentiful.

However, with a good heatsink, the OP deal could have more uses.

As with most of you, I am tapped out on drives after this.laugh out loudlaugh out loud

Just finished rebuilding an old XBOX One S with a crucial 1TB SSD and no body wants it in the family. Stuck with 3 XBOXs.

XBOS X/S and PS5 is still a better way to play games than a computer in my experience only. And alot cheaper! I was shocked how well the XBOX S plays high end games for the price.

But small to very large kids like the flashing lights and all the RGB fans spinning on their Mid Towers.Smilie

It would be wasted playing games too. Use it for the stuff that can really benefit.
That's what I meant, storing and playing games off it like a Steam drive. Any SSD is fine for that and doesn't benefit from this speed.

Just got mine today with the heatsink. I installed it in the PS5 and it is super fast and working perfectly. Easy to install, it just took a few minutes.
