On top of that, even a decent promo without really abusing it can be a good deal when you stack in 15% off gift cards.
On doordash they have free 10pc McNuggets meal if you order $12 minimum. The meal is INCLUDED in the $12 you have to spend which means you only have to buy less than $4 of food.
That's a great deal because if you stack in 15% off gift cards and dashpass, that's a mcnugget meal and a couple pies/mcchicken delivered to your house for $4 including 15% tip.
I can also get good discounts on there which I can use to get free orders. These apps are giving away money now.
Just for selecting "no rush delivery" on doordash I get $3 off. Stack that with a 15% off GC and no tip I could get almost any restaurant delivered for cheaper than it is to get it myself. Stack in a promo offer at a restaurant and it's way less
The only real store that marks up in my area (Bay Area, CA) is Costco. Everyone else is usually same price as in store (including Walmart). The only difference sometimes is the Instacart prices don't reflect the weekly ad prices of the grocery stores.
Did I mention having Instacart means I don't have to step foot in my local Walmart? (Some Walmarts are decent, depending on neighborhood; mine is a sketch area so I don't want to go inside).
I tip the suggested amount on every order. Let the free market, politicians/govt, unions/labor yell at each other to decide what a private corporation should pay their workers. In the end it's either worth or not for someone to pay what someone else is charging for a service and if someone is willing to work for the wage being offered.
