I would be interested if Instacart didn't markup products in addition to their fee.

Agree. Even with big discount coupon offers, there prices are still to high.

I love grocery delivery. It's a bit more expensive than going out to the store but I'll pay to skip the crappy experience of grocery store shopping. The part I dislike is when they get me way too little or too much of something or crappy looking meat or veggies. Instacart does make it easy to get refunded for a problem, but they don't actually send the shopper back to make it right. I've ordered again just to get the one thing they messed up that I needed. Still worth the trade offs for me.

Instacart pays shoppers $20+ per hour, including tips which are usually 5-20%+ of the order. Instacart shoppers keep 100% of tips. The most efficient Instacart shoppers are earning up to $45/hour.Dec 14, 2021
it's a lie, I sighed up for Instantcart delivery just to see if i can make couple of hundred $ on weekends to help with car payments... 90% orders /batches like 8-30+ items to pickup plus 5-15 miles one way ride for $8-$17. One butch to complete can be up to 45min or even more, you pay for gas, car wear and tear, extra mileage, at the end of the year expect huge self employed tax on all earnings including tips. This is slave labor.

I hate Instacart. I have an issue with about 9/10 orders (missing items, expired food, not organic, etc) and have complained so many times that I am now forced to email a special address with my issues.. It's very inconvenient and disappointing since I have been detailed with my issues and always give them photo proof. Never had these issues with DoorDash...
Is it just me? Is there a different delivery I can try?

Makes sense. Great point!!

they have all kinds of coupons you can abuse on these delivery apps too it's like robbery. If you order out of stock items it does not affect your discount in any way. I get lots of almost free orders delivered all the time

On top of that, even a decent promo without really abusing it can be a good deal when you stack in 15% off gift cards.

On doordash they have free 10pc McNuggets meal if you order $12 minimum. The meal is INCLUDED in the $12 you have to spend which means you only have to buy less than $4 of food.

That's a great deal because if you stack in 15% off gift cards and dashpass, that's a mcnugget meal and a couple pies/mcchicken delivered to your house for $4 including 15% tip.

I can also get good discounts on there which I can use to get free orders. These apps are giving away money now.

Just for selecting "no rush delivery" on doordash I get $3 off. Stack that with a 15% off GC and no tip I could get almost any restaurant delivered for cheaper than it is to get it myself. Stack in a promo offer at a restaurant and it's way less

It can be. If you don't want to go out during a pandemic or if the weather is bad it can save you a hassle.
Exactly same. Worth a tip to shopper and the small Instacart fee for me not have to drive 15-20 mins to the store, find parking, and spend an hour in a crowded grocery store during pandemic. Multiplied by however many stores I need to shop at.

The only real store that marks up in my area (Bay Area, CA) is Costco. Everyone else is usually same price as in store (including Walmart). The only difference sometimes is the Instacart prices don't reflect the weekly ad prices of the grocery stores.

Did I mention having Instacart means I don't have to step foot in my local Walmart? (Some Walmarts are decent, depending on neighborhood; mine is a sketch area so I don't want to go inside).

I tip the suggested amount on every order. Let the free market, politicians/govt, unions/labor yell at each other to decide what a private corporation should pay their workers. In the end it's either worth or not for someone to pay what someone else is charging for a service and if someone is willing to work for the wage being offered.

Thanks. They just took full payment for renewal. I cancelled through the website and getting a refund in full. Will then do the Costco renewal. Thanks for an easy $20 saving!

General question about using Instacart promos: if some of our items are unavailable, you will still get your Full promo discount even if your subtotal falls below the minimum for the promo? Is that still true?at all Instacart stores? And what about your tip if a lot of stuff is missing? Is that adjusted automatically?

Does this include pickup orders as well. This is a good deal if you have a costco membership.

I was missing item issue when I used instacart, you can always request for a refund on the missing item. I'm pretty sure that can happen with any service including DD.

So my 6 month trial ends in a week, I'm still debating to switch to annual membership. I already have Costco membership same day service, amazon prime, and can order directly through target. I probably only do 1 or 2 grocery orders a month. But for $80 annual and able to get grub hub + still is tempting
