Was looking for cartridge less color printer and found this at Walmart. Reasonably priced and the low rated reviews complain about difficulty on initial wifi setup and initial in-box ink not lasting. Not a problem if strictly follow onscreen instructions and ink not lasting is expected on any printer. Hence, functionality serves the purpose of Scan, Print (including photos) and copy.

Isn't the initial ink lasting for a good amount of time the main feature and marketing point of this printer? They advertise supposedly 1 year of printing with the included cartridges.
I bought this printer a few months ago at this price, so I'm not really sure if this is a deal. That said, it works just fine for basic printing and scanning. The ink doesn't seem to be lasting as long as it claims that it will, but I haven't run out yet. WiFi setup is a little clunky, but it's not terrible--just download the correct app and follow the instructions.
They really shouldn't advertise a time-based life for the ink. Here's the fine print:
(1) Based on average monthly print volumes of approximately 80 pages at 60% black pages/40% color pages in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711 using 4 cartridges provided in-box. For additional page yield information, see www.brother.com/pageyield.

Well... that's the NEW super fleecing gimmick.
It's bad enough that ink is $40+ for a set of cartridges.
The printers annoy consumer into performing ink wasting tasks: test pages, head alignments, ink jet cleaning BUT they are being programmed to stop working for any little issue and the only solution is to replace the ink cartridges.
Call customer service and no matter what the issue. They will advice for you to replace the cartridges and guess what.... the problem will be rectified !!!

You are talking about HP, been using a brother with aftermarket toner for years and never had a single issue
TN760 is one of the cheapest toners if you are looking for black and white print. I'm sure you can search it to get a list of printers that take it
