It's on par. Both are 5400 RPM. Even though it's branded "Black" the drive inside is not a performance "Black" drive. It's goal is more on storage and low heat build up. Both drives also have the same 3 year warranty. So it really comes down to whether you prefer a particular brand between those two. Both are equally competent and reliable or unreliable.
I can tell you that a 4TB USB3 SATA disk usually transfers at around 700Mbps to/from my Xbox Series X. If this is an SSD, it might transfer faster.

One of my family members has a PS5, & it doesn't show transfer speed on screen when copying to external, so I'm using Series X as a reference. You can expect to transfer a 50GB game (either direction) in around 10-15 minutes.

If you have gigabit internet, it's a wash. If you live in a smaller city & only have 25/50/100Mbps internet, it's definitely worthwhile to save a copy of ALL games to your external drive, so you wouldn't have to redownload from the internet if your console failed. I always make an extra copy of the games on the internal storage just for that reason.

How fast are transfers from this drive to PS5? Am I better of downloading if I have a fast connection?

Thanks. Yeah I spent more time typing my reply than looking at the spec lol. Definitely not getting a 5TB SSD for $100

Right so that is why it only transfers at around 700Mbps. That is megabits so it is less than 100 megabytes per second. With my external HDD I get about that speed and with an external SSD I get about 2.5Gbps.

Specs say 140 MB/s, which translates to roughly gigabit speeds if you are downloading. (8 bits in a byte, etc).

I have 2 of these. One for PS5 and one for Series X. It's flawless for anything not optimized for ps5 and series s/x ie game pass drive.

Basically the same minus the "game drive" marketing nonsense.
