Comcast was planning to roll them out in the northeast at the start of the pandemic. For one reason or another they backed off, but I wouldn't be surprised if they try again at some point

I wouldn't play ps5 games on it, but it's a good drive to put PS4 games on. My PS5 setup is as follows: PS5 games go on the SSDs, original internal drive and I expanded it with a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro. PS4 games go on an external drive connected to the back of the console.

PS5 games need the read speeds of the SSD.

You can't play PS5 games from it anyhow. It only archives them. You have to transfer it to the SSD but it'll keep you from having to download it again but you'll have to wait for the transfer. Seems a bit silly to me unless you live in the boonies with crap internet.
