These work well, and while the newer T7 has faster potential, it actually performs similarly to this T5 in many cases anyway - making the T5 a stronger value for its price point. Many people will be satisfied with the T5 (which also runs cooler).

Yes, but you can only play PS4 games of it. Nothing external is capable of playing PS5 games directly off of it.

Same. Although, there are some games that will have the S/X logo that can still be played off an external HDD (AC Odyssey, Halo MCC for example). Any native S/X cannot be played on anything but the internal or expansion drive.
