From the Scott's site:

If stored in a cool, dry place, grass seed can last for 2-3 years. However, the germination rate (the number of seeds that will grow) will decrease over time, so you may not get the same results you would if you were using fresh seed. For best results, use fresh product and try to plant it within a year.

I tried both, and ezseed is best because of the mulch that keeps seed moist in hot weather. It happens to be on sale too. Scotts EZ Seed Patch and Repair Sun and Shade - 20 lb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0168K9...WFHG?psc=1

These don't state what kind of grass. I only like bermuda and hate St. Augustine.

Does anyone know how this compares to EZ Seed? This seems to be the same product in general. I love EZ seed but would definitely love to save money with this.

There's no such thing as st Augustine seed. So you should be fine. You'll likely get anything but st Augustine

Looks like it's cheaper at Walmart (as noted above) and the 16lbs bag is an amazing deal!

Same boat here. The seeds won't germinate until it's above 50 or 60. If you plant now, they will stay dormant.
