I did this with my pixel 6. I was in store for about 10 minutes. Service has been consistent. I ported from visible. I like having a brick and mortar store available for issues (though I haven't had any). The visible account hacking was freaking me out and I didn't want to lose my number. Also their app makes managing your plan very easy. YMMV. Not a single solution for everyone out there.

How would they know tho? Do they make you sign a 2yr contract and lock service to an IMEI?

I've never used Metro before but currently paying TMobile Prepaid $25 for 5gb. This seems like the better deal if it can give me consistent service in NYC.
Umm your phone number dummy. The one you're porting in. T-Mobile knows if it's been on their network ever.

For those of you who are using Visible, what's your download speed on 4G network? I'm using Cricket and have download speed of ~70mbps.

This plan will show 10GB hotspot on your account page, but hotspot will either fail to activate or direct all traffic to a page thats says you dont have hotspot. You can always use PDAnet or NetShare.

If you're BYOD you'll have to pay for a SIM card, its like $25 I forgot exactly. If you ever want to change your phone its free to swap it from the website or app, I already did that for my Pixel 6.

You get T-Mobile Tuesdays so thats kind of neat.

Taxes & Fees included which is pretty great. I'm on the previous version of this plan where port in carrier didn't matter, I was using Mint's $20 plan so after taxes and fees my trade off is paying a tiny bit more for unlimited but no hotspot.

We currently have Sprint (have not upgraded to TMobile), does Metro operate using the Sprint / T-Mobile towers? Our reception currently good but Metro monthly price would be less than what we are paying. I don't want to switch if my coverage reception would drop off.

Visible is still better for some people.

I get 7mb and 800kb (tethering) download speeds.
In Atlanta I get over 60mbps and over 10mbps with the hotspot. Even though they advertise 5mbps with the hotspot. In fact I get those speed in Charleston and Chattanooga as well. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I have a pixel? May be they don't have the bloatware to limit the speed on those?

Aren't you deprioritized with Visible? Versus this where you're more directly on the t-mobile network? Sorry, newbie here when it comes to these plans.
It is possible but I must say that for me the speed on visible is consistently very good, above 50mbps and even the hotspot is great, three people Netflix from it on long drive, with no buffering (except of course for no service areas)

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, those are my actual download speeds on my phone and Macbook air while tethering. Speedtest results are 70-80 and 11-12

I just did a check inside my home and I got 65mps, so it seems we get similar speed. I was replying to someone with much lower speed. Visible is awesome. And we pay 25, not 25 plus fee plus tax plus protection from mob...

I previously had Verizon's top tier plan and I only notice lower speeds in congested areas. it's still usable though at 16-25mbps
