The underlying technology doesn't matter that much. Actual performance matters. Modern QLC can wipe the floor with old enough SLC designs. And write endurance only matters in rare cases, so QLC is fine for 99% of us.

The only bad thing is when Samsung swapped in QLC on some cards without changing SKUs. That's a dick move. Can't trust nobody.

The 1TB deal went away for a while - looks like it is back. Good for OP for finding it again.

I could use this but I have trouble supporting this business

https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/ne...ees-571983

https://www.thephoblographer.com/...imination/

In October 2007, it was announced that B&H Photo agreed to pay US$4.3 million to settle allegations that it discriminated against Hispanic workers, while not admitting any wrongdoing.
In November 2009, a lawsuit against B&H Photo alleged that the store refused to hire women, in violation of New York City and New York State Human Rights Laws. The lawsuit, brought by four women, sought class action status on behalf of all women discriminated against by B&H over the course of many years. Given B&H's prior alleged discriminatory practices, the lawsuit sought US$19 million in compensatory and punitive damages to deter future discriminatory practices. In 2011, a lawsuit alleged discrimination against Hispanic workers.
In February 2016, the United States Department of Labor Office of Contract Compliance filed a lawsuit against B&H alleging that the company had only hired Hispanic men into entry-level jobs in a Brooklyn warehouse, and then subjected them to harassment and unsanitary conditions. On August 16, 2017, the company announced that it had settled this matter for a reported $3.22 million, while not admitting any wrongdoing.
In November 2019, According to The Verge, the Attorney General of New York state filed a lawsuit alleging that B&H knowingly failed to pay millions of dollars in sales taxes due in New York. The company's spokesperson has said that "B&H has done nothing wrong and it is outrageous". According to B&H, the Attorney General is alleging that customers should pay sales tax on pre-discounted prices, not on the actual selling price, which is the widespread industry practice.

p.s defin not getting my business- i'd be willing to pay extra $20 and buy it elsewhere.

Can I use this on PS5 to swap the internal HD?
Have you done any research about this yet?

For one, the PS5 internal ssd is soldered on the board.

i see 980 PRO also on deal for $150.

i did compare both 970 EVO Plus and 980 Pro and did not see any significant difference except read/write speed.

anyone help me understand more about the difference? which one to be considered better?

thank you.

Would this be a good option for a Synology DS920+ as a caching drive?

it depends on what you're putting it in, for laptops, they have yet to support pcie 4.0 then the 970evo+ to me is the better choice since it's much cheaper than the 980 pro for the same capacities, the only real difference is in the 4k random according to one youtube video I found. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1WlzO97VfA

I also heard that samsung has also since upgraded the controller on the latest models with the same controller found on the 980 pro.

if you're putting it in a desktop with pcie 4.0 support then the 980 pro makes sense, otherwise 970 evo plus is the better buy IMHO.

No. You need the 980 Pro if you're sticking with Samsung, or the WD 850.

A fair number of new intel laptops have PCIe 4.0.

Actually before buying my nvme last year I started reading about different technologies and was so worried about the qlc insurance cause I didn't want the drive to suddenly fail and lose all my data ,so after reading what you said Im confused if it is bad or not

They said QLC is fine but it is a duck move to switch from SLC/TLC to QLC while keeping the SKU the same so buyers think they are getting the same thing when they are not.
I see. In American English "fine", just like "OK", means "quite bad, but slightly better than pure garbage".

While to refer to something actually good, you say words like at least "fantastic" or "excellent".

With this translation I can make total sense of it.
