I use these to locate shorts on circuit boards. They make short work of it, pun intended.

Checking for cold/hot spots in your home to see if the insulation is doing the job. That or ghost adventures.

Thanks for posting. Would be a killer deal if it was USB-C, but I do see that they are including a USB-C adapter with it. Would be cumbersome to use though...

Where is there a connector for USB C. All I see is FLIR OneFit Connector
FLIR OneFit extends the Micro-USB connector by 0.2" in order to accommodate many smartphone and case combinations.

Not for USB C.

Way more phones have micro than type c. In for one! Samsung S10 5G.
I haven't seen micro on a phone since s7. I got rid of that years ago lol.

Less than a dollar to solve that: https://www.ebay.com/itm/363642115648
The IR cam is a little unstable with such an adapter, because of the gap between the cam and phone AND the fitting of the connectors doesn't lock/click together.

Better to use your linked adapter and then a female USB C cable to male USB C cable (they call it a "USB C extension cable") between phone and camera.

Use double sided tape if you must mount the back of the camera to the back of the phone.

Or, use a selfie-stick to hold the camera with 1 hand, phone with your other hand.

Your link is not pro. USB-C is a recent implement and you got one a few years ago? Also you have no idea how IR sensors has advanced in just a few years. The one I bought make their own sensors (in other words other company you know use those sensors on their own products) and their product is least 10 times smaller with better resolution as well as competitive pricing.
USB-C was not a recent implement, here's a video from 2017 with USB-C... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P...dderNation

Maybe buy a longer adapter with a cord. You could hold one in each hand..

What's the average use case for something like this?
I'm an auto tech, and I use mine to check rear defroster grids and seat heaters, and I might use it to look for a a short or high resistance in a circuit. It's really cool and somewhat handy to have around. You can sort of see through your walls at home too. You can see where all the heat ducts are, and see all the studs in the walls. I broke down and bought a type C connector one.

Wish it would be USB-C micro USB is obsolete.
Beside that, can I use this to locate mouse or squirrel in my walls?
Or it won't work with the sheetrock?

Clarice could sure of use this. Imagine holding an iPhone with one of these attach and a magnum on the other. Buffalo bill would of been really easy work.
