I got infiray T2L after trying FLIR one pro, and it is so much better. It has increased resolution and much improved refresh rate, it's really good for the price. I chatted with an inspector who had a $3-4K professional FLIR camera and it was on par/better for thermal sensitivity/resolution/refresh rate. I'm sure the professional grade ones may have features that are better than the lowest grade infiray, but T2 is a generation ahead of FLIR ONE based on the sensor. They say T3 or some of the spotting scopes are even better too, but 800-1000 was above my budget.
At this price FLIR is cheaper (I got T2l for ~320) so depends on your requirements. FLIR has a nice feature that combines visible light with IR to increase the resolution, but honestly you don't need it with infiray. Software is basic but perfectly fine for my purposes. I mainly use mine around the house for leaks, insulation, pipes etc. and some outdoor purposes, looking at animals, nature and so on. Super interesting.

FLIR Imaging TRMS Multimeter FLIR DM166 ($299.99 w/ Free 2 Day Ship) - multimeter with built-in thermal imaging
which use 3 AA battery with screen and multimeter may be a decent deal?
For occasional use, FLIR DM166 may last much longer than rechargeable battery one that require smartphone compatibility. Who know when FLIR will stop support FLIR One Pro (and/or APP) for future smartphone. Not to mention micro usb plug can easily bent and may not last long. How many Micro USB cable that no longer charge well because of problem with the plug after using it for a while....

That would actually be really useful
Since it doesn't have a battery, it won't have any battery life issues. But one thing is, if it gets momentarily disconnected due to wiggling in the usb-c port then the app crashes, takes 2-3 seconds to restart. I got a tight fitting usb-c extender to use with the case for my phone, it doesn't have the extendable usb connector FLIR has, so that's one negative.
