With Reflect for cloning and Easeus partition master, you got everything needed and both are free.

Getting a free copy just for the fun of it. Very likely this doens't have anything I can't do already with Clonezilla and Macrium Reflect. Was super impressed with Macrium when I saw that it allowed you to even boot a backed up image in a VM and run the OS that way. I can do the samething with Clonezilla but it is way more involved than the simple click and go from Macrium and for free.

If it's Windows 10 or 11 and your hardware supports Hypervisor then check out how turn on WSL/WSL2 in Windows. WSL stands for 'Windows Subsystem for Linux' and once enabled with your choice of Linux-based OS installed, you should be able to mount your WD Drive in that WSL2 environment while simultaneously running Windows (have not done so myself but if Ubuntu can mount that drive then I don't see why it wouldn't work).

Not sure why people are saying they stopped needing this when they got an SSD. Other than no need for random wipes due to the non-magnetic medium, everything else literally works exactly the same on SSDs. Whether you need it at all is a different question.
