patiently waiting for your alternative suggestions.
Go get a swab test administered at a Walgreens or CVS. These cheap at-home tests have too many false negatives.

here is the problem. at where i live those places don't have appointments for at least 2 weeks out. now of course you'd argue it would take just as much time for the at-home test to ship and arrive, but the point of these is you can test more frequently and easily at will so you buy now and you have tests ready to go at any moment like when you suspect having symptoms.

"too many false negatives" out of how many true negatives? does everything has to be 100% to be considered as "effective"?

Tip for users of these kits. There is a liquid solution you apply to the test area. It calls for 6 drops. In my experience, about 8-10 drops really helps the result line become more clear/easier to discern. A positive result can be very faint and hard to read, so look very close. Good luck all
Would not be best to follow the directions as stated in order to avoid any false outcome? Was this info from the manufacturer, or other?

Ordered 2, received the order confirmation. Minutes later, received an order cancelation due to quantity limits...so I take it there is a limit of zero?

Why are you belittling me? I only speak the truth. Don't be so close-minded. Here's your proof, and it's not from Fox!

Just a real-time datapoint to share…

Daughter had slight fever last night, woke with sore throat today. Used the Binax test at 9 am, negative.

Went to doctor at 3 pm (temp spiked a bit and wanted to rule out strep) and she tested positive for COVID.

These at home kits are guidance at best and may have worked better on the pre-omicron variant.

I still will use the home tests for guidance but they are no substitute for a "formal" test.

Stay safe everyone, hearing from so many different of my circles people getting (mildly) sick this last week.

I recommend not stocking up. People are scrabbling to get these tests or any tests in various areas across the county. I'm confident in another month or two the supply will be strong so get what you envision using in in January.

But when there is stock is when you will not need them lol. You need them now, when every 2nd person is catching covid.

anyways cant buy online but it claims like 2/6 of my local wm's have stock.

Just because these antigen tests give you a negative result doesn't mean you aren't infected. You cannot rely solely on these rapid tests.

Apparently these are less accurate on the negative side, more accurate if they read positive. Supposedly if you get a first negative you might want to do a 2nd test. If both show negative you (supposedly) have reasonable accuracy. Whereas if it show positive the first test should be accurate. I assume even this 2 test negative method may not be accurate if you are infected but not having symptoms as per the directions (but your daughter was)

This kinda means you may need 2 tests per use though which sucks.

It's not hillbilly. They have two in a box because you're suppose to retest in 36 hours after your first negative. Antigen tests are good to have as a luxury if you start to feel sick. You shouldn't be in public when you're sick. That's the logic.

"Hey Joe,
Yeah, I feel a bit off this AM, but I took 1 test last night and it came back negative; then I took the 2nd and it also came out negative. I took 2 more this morning, just in case, and they also came back negative. I found 1 more box of tests on the car's floor when I pulled into the office parking lot, so I just took 2 more tests - all came out negative. I'm good, right?!"

....a week later:
"Does nobody work at this place anymore; wth?!"
""They all got Covid from some A-hole who came to work despite being infected....""

...on they way back home:
"....but it said I was NEGATIVE 17 times in a row!"

/the end.

My sister is a nurse and the hospital now require covid positive without symptoms to come in and work anyway. 5 days is only if you have symptoms. Fake story is fake.
