It's decent for SATA

I have 2.5" bays in my computer and no more nvme slots. You barely notice the difference real world launching things from nvme vs SATA, it's mostly for benchmarks. There are loads of blind youtube tests confirming this.

LOL, so I can get 120MB/s and 10ms latency over 1GbE vs 450MB/s and 0.1ms latency over SATA III?

The purpose is all those computers that don't have NVMe slots. If you have one do use it.

What should I do if I've maxed out all my PCI-E and NVME slots?

Been running some form of patriot memory or drive since the Athlon 64 days. This isn't a fly-by-night company.

But don't think they're the same company they were 10 or 15 years ago. A lot has changed.

Yes a lot has changed for every company. But where have you seen they aren't still good?

Yeah, I don't see the purpose in sata SSDs anymore. You're better off paying another $30 for a 2TB NVME.
Servers take 2.5" drives still, so they're useful for that. NVMe slots on servers are still pricey.

"burst elite" this sounds high end! Putting one of these in my 5950x rig. In for 1!
CRINGE flex on a hypothetical rig. Different products have different purposes.

The 2.5" SATA III Crucial MX500 is a better drive.

This Patriot is a budget, lower-tier, DRAM-less SSD.
Don't really need dram if it's used solely for storage.
