Be sure to read the omronconnect privacy policy. I'm pretty sure they sell your health data.

Edit to add the privacy policy: " We share personal information with third-parties for their own services and marketing purposes, unless you opt out of this type of sharing by contacting us by phone at (866) 216-1333 or online by completing this Contact Us form indicating your request to opt out of such sharing. California residents may also opt out by clicking the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link that is prominently displayed in our Site's footer."

The only way to opt out is to delete your account and not use the app, and the app is the only way to get the info to your phone.

Promoted garbage that slickdeals won't admit is a promotion. I used to sell wholesale to the merchandising manager of this company. They buy crap dirt cheap in wholesale and flip. Their merchandise is really low-quality stuff that's been sitting in shipping containers for awhile.

I'm retired now so I could care less that people know lol

The BMI and visceral fat features are worth it alone. I'd rather get something like this than having to go to a nutritionist every time I want to check myself.
lets put on our thinking caps. how do you suppose a scale is able to calculate someone's visceral fat? not even a DEXA scan can do that accurately. And a nutritionist? lol you should go to a dietitian instead

I do wonder how much brands like this, or say, Corona beer, get affected (if at all) by negative association.

I also feel sorry for all the women out there named "Isis" after the Egyptian God, only to have ISIS become the primary association in most people's minds. Glad that's a bit more behind us, though.
There is a city in Southern California named "Corona"

Is deal genius reputable?
Yes, I've purchased from them on several occasions through out the years with no issues. They are a bigger company with several sites that they sell through.

Amazon has all sorts of Bluetooth body composition scales in the neighborhood of $20. I have an Etekcity branded one that I've been happy with. I see that Amazon's price for this Omron scale is $76. Is there something about this scale that makes it better? Or is the Amazon price inflated, and this is just another $20 body composition scale?

visceral fat features are innacurate/useless. Better off getting a hand held body composition analyzer

I always look at it compared to eating and drinking. The scale will be there until you get rid of it. Food and beverage hours later it's gone! So you can be reminded everyday if you do or do not like your purchase. Choose wisely! BTW I bought one just to try and also compare to a scale I use (second opinion.. to keep it honest).

Try looking at some of the wifi scales like Withings. It's nice to step on and off without a phone nearby.

I dont know about you ...

I use Garmin WiFi index scale. It has BMI too.

It adds the data to my daily exercise, the mileage from my bicycle, my walk, my run, etc etc

It is also compatible with the "Samsung Health" app for those of you who use that.

Meh, BMI is such a flawed metric. I'm 5'10 and 185/190 lbs, and according to a BMI chart, I think I register as slightly obese lol. Meanwhile, I'm muscular and BMI charts don't take this into account. There is another iteration of BMI chart that does, but no one ever seems to use it. Alas, whenever I go to the good doctor's office for a physical, I get told to "lose some pounds". Could I stand to lose 5 or 10 lbs, sure who couldn't? But if I went by the BMI chart, I'd have to lose like 30 lbs which wouldn't be possible unless I lost muscle mass.
