I asked the relatives of your question, both told me their free lines are at least year and a half old when they got them initially
Maybe that's some of the family and friends from the simple choice days? I recall seeing that some were OK and others not. Did you check with CS before via chat and have a confirmation that the lines should transfer over?

Finally pulled the trigger the other day and switched up to Magenta Max 55 from Magenta 55+ or whatever. Submitted my code to the Insider page and my "code for 20% Magenta Max lines is now registered". Next should be a confirmation text when everything is good to go. Fingers crossed I don't lose my device credits, altho from peering at the fine print in the promo specs, I shouldn't.

SIgh - so much drama within one thread.

That's always a problem. They run so many great promos every now and then, but it's never well organized, staff is not informed or trained well (if at all), CSR gives people a spectrum of answers ranging from 0-100 and from perfectly accurate to delusional, and then "the system" adds a certain level of randomness on top that it will f%$ up some accounts just to keep things interesting. So, it's "No risk, no fun" for many new people and then there are those of us looking at the finally healed bruises from the last promo and wondering if the bait is strong enough and we tell ourselves (and our family/partner/spouse/others on the plan) "OK, only this one, this one may be worth it, and then I promise won't be tempted ever again... ". Big Grin

Just go to any corporate Tmobile stores. The odds are they'll still have the new customer codes available. It's the existing customer code that is rare.

I am finally on magenta Max. I actually currently have 7 voice lines, not 8. But adding BOGO would still put me at 9 lines (6 free). When i asked Tforce about this, they are not able to confirm your math. They said it would be as expected for adding 1 additional line (and the other is free). Who or how can i confirm what you are saying is true?
DrDealSeeker knows his shit. This pricing system is very very confusing for most TMobile customer service employees as well.. I second every number that he has written above, except for the insider discount, as I don't have that, and I'm reading some reports of it being applied at a line level as opposed to an account level, not sure how it affects the final number, but people are seeing their bills higher by a couple of dollars compared to what they expected.. but everything else and the way to calculate it is spot on!
