For anyone having their order cancelled. They won't let you buy digital purchases with a gift card… I had my order cancelled a few times. So what I did was add like a random physical item to ship. For me it was a hot wheel car for a dollar.
So this cards do not expire right? In other words I can buy this and throw it on a drawer till when I need it right?
As long as you have they offer the service, they don't expire. You can also redeem and extend your current subscription if you currently have one, they stack.

Yup. Learned my lesson. Finally I gave up using my gift card and just used PayPal.
So one child has a switch dlc for smash bros, Zelda etc. About to get another switch for 2nd child. Under this can they share anything?
This is not for sharing games. This is for online services. With the family membership, you can have up to 8 accounts online. So if both your kids want to play online, or play NSO complimentary games, they both can use their own account.
Nintendo doesn't offer a game sharing service, but there is a makeshift workaround. You can search how to do that, and you can decide if it's worth your time. I'm not sure how it works with DLC sharing though.

I waited over a year before I activated my family membership just this past December.

If it's anything like Xbox or psn, you should be able to just redeem it right away and then it will just extend your membership for another year.
After reading their faq it appears you can stack up to 3 years.

I can confirm it stacks, I redeemed mine with several months left.
Thanks, I'm planning giving this as a gift at a later date, wanted to make sure it wouldn't expire. Thanks all for the info.
